I am very grateful for the dedication of the teachers at NES who provide tutoring before class on Wednesday mornings, not just for students who need help with the curriculum, but as enrichment for students who seek challenges.

I had to threaten to go to the school board when it took me a month to get teachers and staff to take my son being both emotionally and physically bullied seriously. My Kindergarten age son had not learned how to spell his full name by Christmas break which is ridiculous. I felt that his education was suffering due to the fact that his teacher was checking his work off as correct even though letters and words were written incorrectly. he wasn't being taught the correct way to write his letters as well. Since Homeschooling him for 4 months he has reached not just kindergarten but 1st grade level activities. I can not wait to get into a school district that gives a crud about the children's academic performance.

Norcross Elementary School. Love the friendly atmosphere, love the creative art teacher, art club, music and more.

The Norcross Elementary has an excellent staff and is strong in academics and the arts. I can recommend it.

With two children currently attending Norcross Elementary (5th and 2nd grades), I can say that we're thrilled with what we see. Our kids don't think twice about the economic and racial diversity of their friend groups, they love their teachers, they are challenged to work hard (including a rigorous FOCUS program), and they come home with stories and ideas that show they are growing in their understanding of the world around them and how they ought to live in it. At the end of the day, I'm not sure what more one could want for a kid. The teachers and administrators are, themselves, a well-educated lot, with PhDs and other post-grad degrees represented. There's a new building, and students have regular access to computers. I'm thrilled my kids are learning life's initial lessons at Norcross Elementary School!

I loved this school, did not care for the principal. Not a pleasant woman AT ALL. In fact rude and abrasive. My son did well for the 2 years he was there because he had some awesome teachers, but I didn't get as involved as I would have liked due to the principals attitude.

This school sounds to be getting better every year. We have considered sending our kids there. Maybe we will send our kids there next year. Thanks to the teachers and administrators for their work.

I just REALLY wanted to express my feelings: I don't like the way the administrators/teachers act. If you go to ask a question or concern something, they acted like they don't even care or as if you're wasting their time. And it also hurts my feeling to hear the assistant Principal to make fun of some of the students, and teachers, like when the assistant gave a teacher a t-shirt because the teacher needed one and the assistant said, "Ha ha, hopes it fits!" Or when they kept telling a student "Ha ha, you're gonna go to jail and they are gonna whip you!" And I hate the teachers with their gossip and roomers that are not true. And I hate when the teachers pet dose something bad and another student does something just as bad, she won't send the pet to an office, but she'll send the other student to the office. I just wish I could move back to the old school, Peachtree ES, and so dose my child

This is my daughters first year here and the interaction with her teacher and the administrator has been awful. The teacher always seems annoyed whenever I bring up any concerns and the administrator speaks to me as if I was wasting her time and telling on the teacher. I absolutely do not recommend this school to anyone. I will be looking into moving into another school district.

My daughter has attented this school for 4 years. I have not had any problems with any aspect until this point. I have not been satisfied with my daughters teacher and asked that she be removed from the class. All steming from the fact my daughters grades started off strong and then drastically drop and being bullied. I enrolled her in tutorting and she attends tutorting that NES provides. Yet, my daughters grades have not improved. When I asked to have her remove so that she can do better the administrators told me no and would not offer any other assitance. They basically blamed her for her failing. I have not been successful with getting the teachedr to help my child "pass the CRCT'. I have noticed that, like the parent stated above that all they are doing is teaching for the CRCT and not life lessons. Which is a disservice to our children. Even though it is so close to the end of the year, I moving and taking my child out of this school where I feel she will fare better. I wish that public schools cared a little more in helping students instead of putting up roadbloacks and being disenchanted by parents who are geniuely concerned for their kids.

This review is really for the principal since my daughter just started this school today. After talking with the principal for less then 5 minutes, I have decided to sell my house and move to a better school district. The whole interaction was like I am standing in a check out line and am having an argument with the cashier. And all I asked her was "what's the criteria you use to put a child in any section and what are the qualifications of the teacher that my child has just been assigned to". I thought those were reasonable questions to ask, but apparently not.
