I would not send my children anywhere else. You may ask: Why do I send my children to NA? I say why wouldn't I. NA has high SAT scores, great teacher/student ratios and relationships and a positive Christian environment.

I coudn't be happier. The teachers and administrators are amazing, and it's a family atmosphere. I feel like my child is in a safe environment and loved. The small class sizes equal assured one on one attention. Love love love NA!!

It is impossible for a great school to be a "secret." A great school has a stellar reputation, high ACT/SAT scores, and a well educated staff and administration. This school is mediocre at best as it meets none of the above criteria. When students leave this school to attend other high schools or college, they immediately see how ill-prepared they are. The Head of School himself told a local newspaper that the education at Newberry Academy is no better than what the area public schools offer. One of the county schools ranks in the bottom 100 in the country. If Newberry Academy is no better, why waste money sending your children there? They only say the school is a secret because they have difficulty attracting new students and trouble increasing their enrollment numbers.

In reference to the May 15, 2014 post, Newberry Academy did have two five year advanced accreditations during the late 1980's and 1990's. SCISA changed the requirements, adding a masters for the headmasters, and the head employed at that time did not have a masters and chose not to return to school to get one. The school met ever other criteria during the subsequent accreditations, but was awarded the three year version because of this lack of a masters. The school's graduates have been well prepared for college since the inception of the high school in the late 1980's, and the college graduation rate for the Newberry Academy kids has been amazing. The school has been Newberry's best kept secret since 1966.

The school has gone through many POSITIVE changes. For one, a new head of school who is on top of making sure the kids are well prepared for college. It also has an advanced accreditation for the first time in history. I believe Newberry Academy is a wonderful option for parents who 1. want individual attention for their kids, 2. a safe family environment where everyone knows your name 3. a place where kids actually learn and are not taught to only take tests. This school is Newberry's best kept secret.

My child has been here 5 years and we are looking forward to his graduation. The teacher feedback to parents is amazing. The class size is great. The school is accredited with awesome test scores. I couldn't be happier.

I have no doubt that the middle and high school are behind the times as both of my kids went through there. One of my kids didn't even have a textbook for a couple of classes because they simply didn't have enough and were probably too broke to buy more since their enrollment has dropped significantly in the last few years. One teacher would copy pages out of the textbooks to give to students who had no books and cut off half the page. So, tell me how a child is supposed to study this way? The building is old and run down as others have said below, much of their equipment is outdated. I also say beware of this place!
