Glc is a good school! The teachers care about their student! My doughter is in 11th grade and is fond of her teachers. Going thru sat prep , regents is not easy for a 11th grader, but the teachers have been there with her supporting and guiding . It has a long way to go to become a great school but i am sure it will get there.

This school is too chaotic to aptly support student growth and development. This principal is not up to the challenge of running a high school full of English Language Learners and students with Individualized Education Plans. Instead of focusing on teacher quality and student achievement, she focuses on micromanaging and intimidation of staff and students alike. It is not a happy place to work or to try and learn. Discipline is greatly lacking as is consistency of scool policies. The school sorely needs new leadership. The students who attend are lovely and there is a group of hard working teachers, but without solid direction, those staff and students who are disruptive and not hardworking cause too much chaos for other students to excel. A high school simply cannot survive with the graduation rates and credit accumulation seen at the GLC.

This small High school is nowhere near terrible. I am I current graduate of this school and I can truly say that I completely enjoyed my experience. The teachers here really care about their students and their main priority is to get students ready for the regents and for college. The principal really wants to be 1 on 1 with you and she fulfills that task everyday. If you're failing a class or a regents she will talk to you 1 on 1 just like you would with a friend. I think that is the best quality of a principal. In this school all you really have to do is your work and you will end up with a diploma 4 years later. IT IS REALLY NOT THAT HARD. If you want to attend a High school with a sound community, great opportunities, and college readiness I recommend this school. It's really all about putting in your 2 cents and letting the teachers handle the rest. As long as you cooperate and are serious about your education and your future you will succeed. This school will shape you into the adult you need to be and prepare your mind for the hard work ahead. Do not underestimate this small school. It is growing larger as the years go by and it will shape it's students into greatness.

Global Learning Collaborative is a remarkable place. If your son or daughter thrives in a small school with terrific teachers, GLC is a great match. Academics are taught in a supportive environment with teachers staying after school each day if anyone needs extra help. Along with the regular high school curriculum is the amazing and inexpensive addition of travel incorporated into the curriculum. The Upper West Side has needed small quality high schools, and GLC is paving the way.
