The school is a close knit family environment. Parental support is required but even if it wasn't St. Rita parents are showing up. The school seems to retain its students for multiple years which reflects their parent's satisfaction. The extracurricular activities are all mainly overseen by parent sponsors. The school spirit is extremely high.

The school feels more like a family, which is a wonderful asset.

My daughter attended St. Rita from prek 4 through 7th grade (2006-2015) and she absolutely loved it. It was a very close knit community with great parental support . There were some challenges in middle school with teachers who had been there for years, but the administration took care of that problem. I was kind of disappointed to hear that their previous principal and a few of the veteran teachers are no longer there, so I am a little worried about their stability.

New principle new attitude! Great school! I found that when I moved to Atlanta my child was way ahead of the other kids! I moved right back, and put my kids in St. Rita again!

My daughter has been at this school for 4 years and she is now in tMrs. Hunter 4th grade class and I hate it. All the teachers my child has had at St. Rita were great teachers but this one I really believe dont like kids. The teacher has made my child hate going to school. The school is not the same and my child will not be attending anymore after this year. T

My daughter attended this school for five years. She was highly motivated by the excellent faculty members. She participated in the after school sports program and enjoyed every minute of it. She is going to high school next year - well prepared for shat is ahead. I thank the principal and all of the teachers for making St. Rita a family.

My son attended this school for kindergarten and first grade. I should have pulled him in K however school options are pretty limited in New Orleans. This 2010-2011 year was an absolute nightmare. The teacher my son had did not effectively communicate with me regarding his performance. The principal is disconnected and uncaring. My son was to receive speech therapy, we completed the required paperwork and the principal totally dropped the ball without a valid explanation. The list can go on and on. In my opinion the staff is not adequately trained to educate children. There is a high staff turnover and student registration continues to decline. The current staff consists primarily of elderly nuns and former public school teachers. At every meeting the principal is asking parents to refer neighbors to the school but she makes no real effort to make the curriculum/school better. If you value your child's education you may do better by looking elsewhere.
