My oldest graduated from St. Aug. I pulled my youngest out. The school has went down tremendously. Teachers are very inexperienced and staff is unprofessional. Old buildings. Gum just got AC after 10 years. They have done a lot of beautification but it does not matter if what is going inside is broken. I’ve had teachers who cared more about how my son was performing on the field than in the classroom. This is not the place for my family.

An predominantly African American school that prepare young African American men for the world. It's the best at what it does.

St. Aug is an excellent school for the development of young men! Whether academics, sports, spiritual development and leadership, this school will motivate and prepare a young man for success.

I went to St. Augustine high school and this isn't the school it used to be. St. Augustine offers a low grade academic challenge. Being a seventh grader there i also experienced a lot of violence, thievery, and disruption in class. They offered me no academic challenge or a diversity in activities. Please don't send your child here.

I only have praise for the boys in your school even though I am not living in New Orleans. My husband and I were at the Orpheus Parade on Monday, March 7, 2011 and there were several girls 'taunting' the band members. Those boys just held their heads straight and NEVER comment or looked around. I am a grandmother with grandchildren and would expect nothing less than what I witnessed from this incident. May God continue to guide you and your staff for the teachings you are encouraging young men to become responsible adults.

Great teachers who are caring and dedicated. They are committed to the students overall well being. Prior to enrolling at St. Augustine High School my son had been enrolled in a suburban middle school. I saw a complete turnaround with my son's academic's, he became more engaged in his studies. He matured fast and grew spiritually (thanks sister and Ms. G). He is looking forward to attending college thanks to the guidance of his teachers. I commend the young men of St. Augustine, you are your brother's keepers.

I have three sons, two are graduates of St. Augustine, and the last one is an 8th grader. I have no regrets whatsoever about this school and our decision to send our boys there. My two older sons have opportunities opening up to them in college because of their educations at St. Augustine. There is a family-oriented atmosphere at this school that you do not find anywhere else. They care about our sons and want the best for them just as we do. There is no other place to send young African-American males to where there is discipline and that give them a sense of pride outside of the home and church except St. Augustine. Again I say we have NO REGRETS as parents and if we to do it all over again, we would still choose St. Augustine!!!!!!!!!!
