Loving and nurturing environment. Gina Panza is a great leader. She has worked diligently to make the school a better place. The school is trying its best combining the traditional education with the most current trends happening in the world. It is amazing how the school can use its limited resources to generate efficient education opportunities for every student.

I feel so blessed and happy to have my children at St. T's. I also am so happy to be part of a community that warms my heart and supports my journey as a parent.

We are so impressed with the learning we are seeing! The academic experience is very rich with small classes and lots of specials. The teachers are experts in their subjects. In addition, the children are kind and generous with one another and the families are friendly. Our family is very happy with the school.

We absolutely LOVE St. Thomas's Day School! Our 2 children are thriving there and we could not be happier about the experience. We really appreciate that our children are learning academic skills, as well as life skills. They are learning to be good people! We love the teachers and the entire staff.

The current administration is one that relies on fear and intimidation to keep their teachers in line. Over the last few years, the current head of school has either fired or pushed out many of the experienced and wonderful teachers at this small school. They have been replaced with an inexperienced and ineffective staff. This used to be a caring, inclusive place for students. Now it is a school where bullying prevails. This school does not make the world a better place.

St. T’s is amazing! From the moment my children started at the school it has been a positive experience. We were welcomed into the community like old friends, and the teachers and other kids embraced my children with open arms. Our family developed strong bonds with other families that we know will be life-long friendships. Morning Chapel has become a positive way to start each day, giving us yet another way to connect with the community. The buddy program has also been a wonderful experience for my children, especially my son. His buddy greets him everyday with a smile and has been so helpful in getting him excited about school. The school has become like an extended family. We just love the school!

As a former student, I can truly attest that this is a school where teacher's let bullies reign, and teacher's thus constantly turn a blind eye. Some of the teachers, past and present, even are bullies themselves. They will publicly berate a child in front of the entire class over a minor indiscretion, such as having black leggings on instead of navy. This school does not teach appropriate social values, kindness or in any way teach children class. Moreover, even when the bully and the bullied child must go to the principal's office because the situation is so out of control, the school doesn't even contact the bullied child's parents to let them know of the horrible situation that their child is in.AVOID THIS SCHOOL AT ALL COSTS.

St. T's is a special place! It's truly a caring community. All the children know each other and the families are diverse, down to earth and friendly. The school has helped my children grow in confidence, creativity (art and music dept is amazing!) and focus on all that they participate in.

My two children have attended St. Thomas' and I have one child still there. St. T's is an extraordinary place for children and provides something that very few schools offer to elementary children. In addition to providing a nurturing, child focused, engaging learning environment, the school provides children with an amazing sense of self and builds self esteem, presence, and a wonderfully broad sense of self within community. This is a foundation that will last my children their whole lives and it shows up in their comfort with speaking or performing in front of audiences, their ease and ability to communicate fluently with all ages and diverse people. Children learn there that they are important beings in their own right and that everyone else is too; that everyone has something important to give.A strong curriculum is the foundation of the school and this is supported by a wonderful spectrum of field trips where children get to explore the world outside the schools 4 walls and beyond New Haven. At St. Thomas', the school staff and faculty get to know your child really well and the school works hard to specifically address each child, their needs, and their learning style and abilities. My children love the school and as a parent I love being part of this community. It's a great place that partners with you as you raise young children and that draws the best out of all of them.

I have two children both who attended St. Thomas Day School from Kindergarten through 6th grade. My children thrived at the school, made lifelong friendships and formed deep bonds with their teachers. The uniquely intimate, nurturing and value based environment at the school created a safe yet challenging environment in which to become enthusiastic learners and ethical young human beings. This alone speaks volumes but now that they are high school and college students, the fruits of their St. Thomas's education multiply! Both have grown to be focused, open-minded, organized , creative and dedicated students at top institutions. And finally, as a family , the St. Thomas community has provided us all with lifelong friendships- the bonding among the parents has generated some of the most special friendships that we have even now many years after graduation. This is truly a very special place for children and parents both!

When you choose to send a child to a private school, you can only hope it will be this fabulous. Supportive, energized and creative staff build on a foundation in traditional education makes St. T's shine. You will not find experimentation with the trendy at this school. You will also not find showy wealth or poorly behaved children. Our experience has been just amazing. Visit the school and ask all the hard questions you can think of because they can handle it.

St. Thomas has been a gift. We moved from Boston, which has excellent schools, and were looking for a place that combined a great education and, just as important, a spirit of community and decency. That's just what we found. We've talked to teachers at schools like Hopkins, where St. Thomas' kids regularly apply, and they said that what really makes the St. Thomas' kids stand out is that they are both smart AND kind. Our daughter now attends Hopkins, and she's flourishing because St. Thomas didn't just educate her, but instilled within her confidence, a love of learning, and an awareness of other people. Our son is still at St. T's and he, too, is thriving. We couldn't have asked for a better education and are so happy with our choice.

St. Thomas's is a school that offers a rigorous academic curriculum combined with a tightly-knit community focused on service, engagement with the New Haven community, and developing strong character and ethical values in its students. We live in a suburb with a strong public school but choose St. Thomas's for its commitment to diversity and service as well as for its small classes and the superb caliber of its faculty. During off-campus field trips, people often commend St. Thomas's children their polite behavior, impressive questions, and intellectual curiosity. This school is a gem.

After attending the neighborhood public school, it was clear that our child was not thriving. St. Thomas's teachers and the entire community welcomed us with open arms. After being enrolled for just one week, every child and family cheerfully greeted my son by name and he was joyful about coming to school every day. I knew about the reputation of St Thomas's academic excellence but I was unprepared for the exceptionally kind and generous community. As a non-religious family, we were also pleasantly surprised to find ourselves comfortable in chapel sitting alongside families from a variety of religious backgrounds. We love this special place!

We have two kids at this school and, after looking at every elementary option in the area, we feel great about this choice. It's not a flashy place but a positive, progressive and rigorous learning environment whose graduates go on to the best schools out there.
