Davidson Academy is a great place. The campus is beautiful, the staff is loving and welcoming, the students are kind and respectful and the education is engaging and challenging. We hope to stay until both our kids graduate.

We toured several different private schools in Davidson County for our son. We chose Davidson Academy because it feels like one big family. The principal, teachers and staff all know your child by name. They truly care and want your child to succeed academically and spiritually. The student to teacher ratio helps teachers meet your child's learning needs. We love that our son is also being taught in an environment that is preparing him for college and life.

As an employee, I am very thankful for the God focused culture at Davidson Academy. STEAM education and ACT prep are also strong programs the school offers. There is a family atmosphere and strong parent engagement. It is a blessing to work alongside the amazing faculty, staff, and families at Davidson Academy.

Hello everyone, I am a graduate of Davidson Academy. I have very mixed feelings about this school and I hope that sharing the reasons on why can help you decide if this is the school for your child. Also, please note that everything i write is only concerning the high-school, as it is the only part i attended. There are some pretty positive things about this school, the main one being that it provided me with an amazing education which prepared me well for college. Courses were challenging and effective which was something I hated in the moment, but learned to greatly appreciate later on in college. When I was having trouble understanding the material, most teachers would be more than willing to help and put in extra time for me. I felt like the teachers not only cared about my education, but about my wellbeing. As far as athletics goes, most coaches seem to care about their athletes and it made me happy to see them proud of me doing my best. The school is also very clean and their cafeteria food is good most of the time.On the other hand however, I want to say that it does not matter to the school how good or Jesus loving your child is if your child is gay, a feminist, or wants to speak out on a teachers wrongdoing towards another student. I witnessed harassment of these students by the school's administrators along with two teachers. For some, it was to the point that they experienced mental health problems and distraction from their education. Also rumors/ drama fly around very quickly among all of the staff and the students since it is a small school so just be mindful of that.

I never thought I would be writing a poor review as we started our journey with DA full of optimism about the school, however I feel obligated as a parent to share that this is a value school at best. There are a handful of exceptional teachers but that doesn’t compensate for the incredibly poor communication from administration, complete lack of diversity in the faculty and a largely overly conservative parent base who isn’t interested in making the school a better place. Specific to this unique year where all schools are in the midst of uncharted waters navigating COVID-19 DA has chosen to ignore science: masks are not required by all, they are still participating in team sports, kids are still eating in the cafeteria, all scientific medical guidance ignored. They attempted to offer distance learning but pawned that off to a 3rd party service 2 weeks into the year. Overall we started on a high note but we will be leaving as soon as we can very disappointed in DA.

My son was not thriving in the public school system. He was bored and getting in trouble. He started at Davidson in 5th Grade and has made straight A's ever since. Seeing a child getting expelled in his class for inappropriate behavior was a huge eye opening experience. The teachers seem to have the time for him and encourage him to do his best. He is approaching 9th grade. I have asked him multiple times this semester is he wants to change school for high school since this would be the time to do it and he emphatically tells me no each time.

My son is in 5th grade and is in his second year at DA. We could not be happier. I will admit that the first quarter was a bit overwhelming because of the added workload but the teachers and staff were so supportive that he acclimated to it quickly. There has not been a day that goes by that he says he does not want to go to school at DA. They have helped him not only learn but grow more independent. The plays/productions they produce are incredible. He never would have had that where he was before. I am so happy we made the move.

I went in a skeptic a year ago, but as we begin to enter our second year I am very happy with our decision to send our son to DA. The school is only as good as the teachers, and the ones I have gotten to know this year are outstanding. They really love to teach and it shows. I feel like my son is getting a much better foundation than he would in our local public school.

The teachers are some of the best I've ever had contact with, and the Administration - from top to bottom - cares about your child and I've never been refused a meeting with anyone in Administration as most have an "open door" policy and are welcoming you in. DA is the place to be!

In my child's word, Davidson Academy is "awesome." It's a family oriented, small Christian community that provides an exceptional educational environment. The faculty members are very welcoming and are willing to help you or your child at anytime.

Davidson Academy is a welcoming environment with teachers who care deeply for the students, allowing them to build upon their strengths, while introducing them to new challenges and experiences. The school pride and fellowship is the best I have seen.

Davidson Academy provides a superior level of education and offers an outstanding curriculum. The students are offered several opportunities and I'm beyond proud of their achievement done so far since attending Davidson Academy.

I'm currently a freshman at Emory University, and I know for sure that I wouldn't be where I am had I not attended DA. I went there from kindergarten until I graduated last May, and I can honestly say I had the best time. I really feel that Davidson prepared me to attend a top 20 university.

My daughter has been enrolled in Davidson for several years. During the past two years I have been extremely disappointed with the caliber of education and the bullying tactics of the principal. My daughter has been singled out in class and in the hallway and humiliated by the principal. My daughter and others have had numerous negative comments made her ability and her grades. It is very clear that money talks at Davidson Academy.

This review is from a student. I attended DA for the first semester of my sophomore year. The teachers did not particularly care about the students or our education, mostly giving out worksheets without going over the material. I am transferring after Christmas due to the lack of teacher involvement and the students. The students here are some of the most spoiled, entitled, and mean children I have ever met. DA was a toxic environment in which my younger sister (who is in eighth grade) was called a misfit and made fun of many times. Chapels consisted of the chaplain yelling at us for about forty-five minutes, with a few Bible verses slung in. PLEASE - do not send your children here without shadowing. When my parents and I toured, we were sold something completely different than what the school actually was.
