This school is promoting confederate values. They knowingly promote and support the failed confederacy and they are intentionally teaching a false narrative of this nation in order to promote the hatred the confederacy stood for before its fall to the union. The teacher and supporting staff needs to be fired immediately. This is another stain on the blight of our nation’s past present and future.

Mrs Pamela Vickaryous, the principal is amazing. She has raised student achievement to almost an A school. The students love her creative ways of creating a feeling of family. She organized food to neighborhood’s after Hurricane Irma. Her teachers came to visit the students in their neighborhood. I think the Supt Kamela Patton is jealous of this rising star and has made her a target. She wants staff not to out shine her. Dr. Patton’s character is suspect. I wish the school board would investigate her. We wish Ms Vickaryous was back doing her job at Manatee Middle

This school is terrible. The majority of the children come from underprivileged homes. The 2 Assistant Principals are great, there are a few good teachers, but over all my experience has been horrible. It doesn't matter how well your student does, they wait for them to fail. My son had cat scratched eyebrows, they told him it was "gang-affiliated", my son put a + on his CHEEK and they frowned upon it. Now is also the same student who received student of the month earlier in the year, won several awards at last years award banquet and also won a bike for positive referrals, but he is continuously frowned upon because he hangs with the "in-crowd". I know what my sons situation is and what he goes through, I can only imagine what other kids go through, especially those whose parents aren't involved.

Manatee Middle is a great school. There is a lot of parent involvement which is wonderful. The Principal, Mrs. Aune is excellent and very involved in the school as well as your child's education. The teachers are very good and doing a great job in teaching. The school has a very friendly environment. We are very happy with this school.

I think the school I go to is great. It provides us very good education. They care about are education and want us to succed to the highest level as much as possible. Well I am very proud of my school and I know after leaving and moving on to High School. Manatee Middle will continue making more improvements and learn from past mistakes. Then I will look back and say 'I was glad that I went to Manatee Middle School.'
