I have dealt with Avaxat for a couple of years now. They have a new principal. I thought things could not get worse for the school but it sure has. Lack of safety, lack of staff and lack of supervision for students. Some of these issues are from the district level that they refuse to address.

I’ve had 4 kids attend Avaxat. I love the faculty and staff and their willingness to teach kids. I absolutely will recommend this school. Safe walking distance for neighboring homes.

Mrs. Moe is by far the best teacher my children have ever had! She had my son in 5th grade, and my other in 3rd grade. I believe she is now teaching kinder. New principal is nice, but we really miss Mr. Parla! Thanks for everything, Avaxat!

Avaxat's new principal, Mr. Parla, is awesome. Vice-principal, teachers, and all the other staff members I ran across are wonderful and caring. I highly recommend this school.

Oldest son completed Elementary school and he loved all of his teachers. My youngest daughter will begin 5th grade and she is very eager to start the year. All staff members and teachers are welcoming and proactive when dealing with an issue. The new Principal Mr. Parla is a great addiction to Avaxat Elementary family he is 100% involved with his students and parents.

I have two children that go here. Both love the school and the teachers they have been placed with. As a parent I believe there has to be discipline at home to show respectfulness during school time. My kids respect their teachers as the teachers respect my kids. School is doing great, keep it up. Wish they had a 6th grade.

My family loves Avaxat! Our kids have excelled greatly at this school. We have had nothing but excellent teachers who encourage our children to be the best they can be.

Both of my children attended this school Kindergarten through 5th grade. They had a wonderful experience with very knowledgeable and caring teachers. My kids felt safe and welcome at Avaxat. Overall, GREAT school!

My son recently started here and out of the 3 encounters I have had with his Tk teacher she was extremely rude and talked down to me in front of my child! I plan to find him a new school asap!

My son is beginning his third year at Avaxat. The principal, Mr C. is very involved and immediately and personally responsive to any concern I have ever had. Every teacher we have had here has loved my child and taught him through caring, patience, and personal attention. Mr. Barnett is an amazing kindergarten teacher who gardens with the children on campus and plays the guitar to songs he wrote for the children. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for my child. Of course there are behavior incidents, or other flaws as with any schools...but my concerns have always been addressed and resolved in a timely manner. My one complaint is the lack of parent involvement. Our PTA is amazing but struggles because there are fewer parents participating overall, which I feel effects the overall climate of the school. Frankly, the fact that Avaxat is likely a lower income school in Murrieta removes some social pressure to "keep up with the Jones'" which I prefer.

Both my children have attended Avaxat, with my youngest now in Fifth grade. When they arrived as "new kids" a couple of years ago everyone was welcoming. They made friends quickly. The teachers are great and communicate well with us parents. Great afterschool program called " Later Gator", offers kids classes in art, robotics, coding, math etc. Many fun family nights; Dr. Suess night, math night, science night. Wonderful office staff! All in all we have enjoyed our experience at Avaxat! Will miss it!

I don't know why the school district from Murrieta doesn't investigate and help this school! The principal doesn't care about the kids or parents, bulling happen all the time with no concecuences for the bullies, he doesn't let teachers or any employee to speak loud, he's a controller that just look for his paycheck, they have kids that bring knifes in the school with out reporting this to the police department or school district. If you as parent do and say what he wants he smile at you, but if you request answers to him then he will be polite with out giving answers and most sure he will ignore you and your kid. This is principal shouldn't be a principal. Also he took privileges to the PTA, so the money from all the book fairs go to the librarian, but their library is in terrible shape, why???

Both of my boys have had excellent teachers here at Avaxat! The principle is very helpful and knowledgeable. Great, safe, fun learning environment for all kids.

I am the father who is an ex military veteran, and my daughter went to this fine school. The principal Mr. David Ciabattini is everywhere, and has a hand-shake of a real man. The security gates are SECURE, when school is in session. I felt safe leaving my daughter there, and I noticed Murrieta' finest Police Officer's are frequently keeping a watchful eye on the school and neighborhood. The class size is medium and not overcrowed, and the teacher's and YES-teacher assistants really upgrade the learning of the children. I think this school is better than some private schools, as I did check on some private schools, but the Lord blessed us with Avaxat and a teacher named Mrs. Dipierro who has 20 plus years experience and a big heart of relaxing kindness to guide the children for success. My wife got to go on field trips and help the teachers while enjoying the day with our daughter. If I owned a private school I would hire her away with double pay. But in general I noticed all the teachers communicate and help each other. It reminded me of the military, but with a smile...

It is terrible how Similar our experience with our daughter has been to several other parents who have commented here. In kindergarten she was told she was above average and doing great but had behavior issues. In first grade we had constant meetings about behavior and our daughter's grades started to decline. We we told that she may have Aspergers or ADHD as well!!! We took her to counseling, her doctor, and a neuropsych. All three said there is nothing wrong with her on a biological or mental level. We pulled her from AVAXAT for her second grade year and sent her to a charter school, where she was pushed and excelled. She is now above level math, reading, and general cognitive levels, where Avaxat faculty and staff called her a sheep that refused to be herded through the year, the Charter School recognized her as an individual. We recommend all parents to keep their children away from Avaxat. Not only do they ignore your children, but they apparently use the same excuses to all parents. No Wonder they haven't been able to make state standards in years!

My son went into Kindergarten reading at K level and at the end of the year, no longer liked to read. In 1st grade he struggled a bit but seemed to be keeping up with the class. I asked his teacher at conferences how he was doing and she said he's doing ok, boys tend to not want to read so this is normal. One month before school is out, she held a team meeting to discuss holding him back in 1st grade because he was not reading up to 1st grade level. They told me they think he has ADHD. His Dr disagrees. Then the teachers decided he shows signs of fringe Asperger s. His Dr also disagreed with this. The teachers never took responsibility for their lack in teaching skills, just decided there is something wrong with the student. I cannot stand this school and will be pulling him out as soon as I can make necessary arrangements.

We had a horrible experience at Avaxat. My second grader's teacher was uncommunicative, and ignored my many requests for a meeting. She didn't assign homework for months because her printer was broken, and refused to get my daughter a login for their online math program for two months, so when it was time to learn math, my daughter was unable to participate, and just had to sit there. When my daughter was bullied and assaulted by another student, the teacher told her that it was her fault, because she was irritating. When I escalated the situation to the principal, he was unhelpful as well, and the solution was to humiliate my child in front of her whole class, and tell them that she was not allowed to play with boys, because she was a pest. We got out of there and never looked back, and my daughter is thriving at her new school.

My child is in the special needs class at this school. It is terrible. The teacher is burnt out, does not enjoy her job and makes it very obvious. I am not the only parent that feels this way. The teacher is unwilling to learn new methods of handing my child. I highly recommend that if you have a child with special needs do everything in your power to not go to this school. My child has gone backwards with his/her behaviors and hates to go to school because of this teacher very negative attitude.
