Lower elementary principal, Jerry Hurst, doesn't like or want children with disabilities in his school! He should not be allowed to work with children of any sort!

My son was choked fromThe staff of this school as a first grader, video surveillance was provided and the teacher was fired and facing charges. The principal and staff was never negative and nonchalant about that situation the whole way though I highly wouldn’t recommend this school they are not for their children, I even witnessed the school office secretary locking the students out the office because they didn’t want to be bigger with the students needs and constantly coming in and out ! MAJOR SAFTEY ISSUE !!!! This school is terrible . The principal is not resourceful at all

We are new to this school district and my two younger daughters did not want to switch mid year, but my step daughter did. She went to Mounds for a quarter of the year in 2010. She did well at first then her grades dropped to D's. I questioned her then emailed the teachers. I had awesome communication with four of five of her teachers. They got her back on track and kept me informed the whole way. By the end of the year she was back up to A's and B's. I was a teacher for five years and it is hard to contact every parent for every little thing. So when I brought up my issues, they resolved them quickly. I am happy with this school so far and my younger two cant wait to start there this school year 2010-2011. Great job Mounds teachers.

This school is very bias, The principal does not listen to what concerns parents have. Instead of getting on to the children they send them to ISP where they can color, read books etc. Does that sound like a punishment to you? Then they can't even control the children in the class rooms. Wow!!! Then they tell you that you child should be put on medication, is that the answer for everything now? Where is the security? I could walk up there pick up a child and they don't even look at you ID, Also there has been incdents were a 5 yr old, yes i said 5 brought a screw driver and pliers to school. WOW the goverment really does run schools now!!!!!!
