Have lived in several parts of the country and when we moved back to western North Carolina, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy was one of the main reasons for picking this particular area. Great students, faculty and parents a very positive and caring environment from kindergarten to 12th grade. Can't beat their academics and test scores, when comparing to any other school in the region (primarily Rutherford, Cleveland and Polk counties). Have been top 10 in SAT test scores in the state of NC for past 8 years. School has grown a bit in the last several years (about 100 per grade) and now has really solid athletic programs as well as numerous extra-curricular programs. They do require school uniforms which may be an adjustment for some kids.

Not impressed! The school is no better than any if the other public schools in the county. My children have been in both and they are pretty well equal!

I have two children in Thomas Jefferson- one is in second grade, the other in the 7th. We have been involved with TJCA for 5 years now and couldn't ask for a better education environment for our girls. We are completely satisfied that they are getting the best education they can get in this area- and scores of both my girls and the TJCA school system show that. Despite the county's attempts to bring their students up to speed with technology-enhancements and gimmicks, they still lag behind, with less than 80 % of their students graduating.
