Drugs, sex, etc! I don’t know if it’s the high income area or the rise of social media (or both) but kids here have access to drugs at an absolutely alarming rate. If you have a child attending LPMS you better be talking to them about safe sex and the dangers of fentanyl. Something really really terrible is going to happen here -- it’s only a matter of time.

For some reason, middle school (aka junior high) is the most troubling for parents and kids alike. Our family, so far, has had an outstanding experience and relationship with LPMS. A school is what we all make it, and, LPMS staff does a lot to make these tough years as great as possible for students. We highly recommend LPMS to any parent seeking a solid school experience for their teen/pre-teen.

Our child is an 8th grader, so this is his second year at LPMS. He *loves* it here, as does our whole family. The teachers and staff are simply amazing -- they really know and care about the kids. And the students? They support each other, have fun together and genuinely like each other. Huge numbers of students turn out for events. Hundreds for school dances, for instance, and most of them dance! Seriously. Wish I could post videos here. It's a great group of kids and a school that puts a huge emphasis on kindness and teamwork. Highly recommend!

LPMS is a great school and all three of my kids have learned a lot and had good overall experiences there. The teachers really care about their students and it shows! The only thing I wish they would do differently is group kids by where they will go to high school. It's hard for kids to have to go to different high schools after 2 years of being together. I guess they can "choice" to the other high school but that isn't an option for many families.

Not impressed at all. My student has been to four schools total, my family is finally settled down after 25 years of military service, and I am panicked that my student has to finish their education in LP School District as a kid with learning differences. If your child is a typical learner, without any specific needs, who is going to go to college, this vanilla school is a fit, if not, I don't recommend this school district.

This School is perfect for any average learner. If however you or your child aren't average learner's you will not get taught correctly

I have moved around the country and had children in 6 different Middle Schools - this one is in last place on most areas of comparison. If you have a choice, choose a different one!

It was the best. I loved it. They always are listening to both sides of the story (when someone get bullied) and deles with it very seriously. This school is my safe house or my home away from home

I'm so thankful to live in this district. Whenever i tell other people in nearby towns what district my girls are in, they are impressed. That's a good district!

I attended Lewis Palmer Middle School for 7th grade, 2016-2017 and I had a pretty good year overall. I was behind other kids due to homeschooling the year before and my teachers managed to help work with me and catch me up during the school year and I ended up passing all my classes. The exploratories were wonderful as well. There were so many options to choose from so I got most of the classes I wanted. The teachers at this school are fantastic, as I noticed that most of my teachers went the extra mile to ensure fun and interesting classes that you can keep up with. The after school activities are amazing as well! I was in POMS for seventh grade and it was wonderful. I met new people and built a trust with others as well. And from my knowledge, not many other Colorado middle schools have cheer. I am definitely looking forward to eighth grade at this school as well as high schools in the district.

The variety of food as well as the quality of food provided to the children is great. They have a lot of options for the children something everyone will like.

My child had just gotten out of eighth grade and had a horrible time with bullying throughout his middle school career. I hadn't found out until recently but he had tried to contact the staff but hadn't gotten any help. They ignored all requests he had to fix the problem. I am very dissappointed in this school and am taking my child out of the district for high school.

Lewis Palmer Middle school has a culture of Bullying. From the administration on down. Very overcrowded and not managed well. Many parents are pulling their children out of this school because and concerns with bullying from teachers or students falls on deaf ears......sad school.

My son had a great experience in both 7th and 8th grade. It was great to have all his friends from elementary and preschool here. Their teaming approach meant he got to be in classes with his peers and he developed socially because of it. Cannot say enough about the extracurricular activities especially Band and Jazz Band. My only wish is for more school hours to take more advantage of great electives like Gateway to Tech, a favorite among students.

LPMS fails to provide a welcoming learning environment. District 38's budget struggles has taken its toll on Lewis Palmer Middle School and its staff. Students who struggle with executive function will find little grace, support, patience, guidance, and tolerance from teachers and staff. 504 & IEP's have little influence. The school is over-crowded. Communication is lacking amongst the staff and with families. The staff seems over-tired and over-worked. Little room is left for teachers to be creative in their approach to teaching individuals based on their strengths and learning styles. Discipline is more of a priority than connecting. On a positive note: the layout of the building is user friendly, the PTO is active and the front office staff are friendly. Students with the ability to easily conform should have little problem adapting.
