Montague Elementary allowed my students to transfer in from another local district three years ago after we had issues with bullying and low academic expectations. Our children love their teachers and are excited for the challenges that MES provides in the classroom. We love the teachers, garden, after school programs, and the opportunities for the kids to try out new activities like drama and chess club.Rural does not have to mean limited opportunities!

Good and improving. It seems there is always room for improvement anywhere you go, however there seems to be an uphill swing should the new principal keeps with the job! I am referring to the 2018/2019/ 2020 school year.

Poor the second grade teacher for the 17/18 school year did nothing but let kids play with Legos and fall behind. He is no longer employed there but the school has not stepped up to remedy the deficit

I love teaching at MES! The staff works together as a team and supports each other. There is unity school wide so that when students progress through the grades they will find continuity. The teachers work really hard to design creative lessons and we are always doing ongoing professional development. We are a highly qualified staff!

The entire staff and administration have truly developed a caring and nurturing environment in which our children learn best. I have seen teachers go above and beyond to provide quality educational opportunities, in class and numerous field trips. They truly have a heart for teaching and care about all their students.

This is an amazing school with an amazing staff! They are truely about the child! The leave no child behind and have wonderful programs in place to help students become successful. Definately the best school in the area. They all go above and beyond.

this school is amazing, i was at Montague K-2 nd grade and left in 2000, my family moved alot and sadly i had to go, i hade great teachers such as Mr. Gutierrez, and Mrs. Mahan at my time. Now im 19, serve in the U.S. Army and wish to one day visit my favorite school and to hopefully see the new changes~ Nunez

I have worked at Montague Elementary for over 20 years now and I must say that this is a great little school. Our new principal is a wonderful leader; she is FUN, FIRM, and FAIR. Rose McIntyre brings a breath of fresh air to the school, along with the entire teaching staff and support staff. If you have children entering school, please come and check this little gem out. As a parent and grandparent, I would whole-heartedly recommend Montague Elementary School.

I have 2 kids in MES and couldn't be happier with the the way the school is run by Principal Gretta Brown. It is unfortunate that some of the parents don't understand the need and the benefit of some of the more recently implemented rules, but as a parent I completely support the approach Mrs. Brown has taken toward the leadership of the school. I also credit the teachers and staff for genuinely caring about the success and well being of the students and the apperance and atmosphere of the campus. Excellent job, keep up the good work.

this school has definetly went down since tag pimentel left. i dont agree with many of there rules but it is an excelent school besides the unfair rules.
