This school getting a 4/10 rating is the most generous thing I’ve seen since FDR’s New Deal. I worked there. Love the kids, but the school is failing them. Several students as high as 5th grade can’t read. Students have threatened to kill themselves or others on more than one occasion. Admin is too consumed by in-fighting and to provide consistent boundaries for the kids. One child assaulted a campus monitor and the school responded by changing the campus monitor’s schedule to the child’s convenience. I’ve seen more teachers cry than I can count. Coworkers of color have complained about racial bias in admin and I can’t blame them after some of the choices I’ve seen admin make. This politicking is often front-of-mind for staff, thus making it unsurprising that the students struggle to read at grade level, do grade level math, or demonstrate healthy emotional resilience/expression.

My child has been attending school here since Kindergarten. We've had a wonderful experience. The teachers and staff are always ready to help. During Covid-19 they have gone above and beyond to make sure the students are learning and have a safe space to explore their feelings. They have done such a wonderful job promoting mental health nit only for the students but also for the parents.

They go above and beyond to help each child with their individuals needs. This school is not just about test scores but about the humans they are teaching.

It breaks my heart to have to write this review, but the truth is that this school did not live up to my expectations. When we moved my two kiddos here, it was in the hopes that if they ever needed extra help for a special need, they would get more help here rather than a public school. My worst fear came true when my son started having some emotion issues at school. The “resource lady” that I was put in touch with, was not helpful at all. She also did not want to do an assessment on my son as I had requested. My son continues to struggle even with the “resources” they provided him, while the admin looks at me and questions me about what’s going on at home. He really needs someone trained in his special need to help him out, but right now it has been well meaning teachers. We love the teachers at this school. The “parent group” was kind of a mess. I didn’t feel wanted or needed there. The parent group meetings were not really productive, and the same three or four people seemed to be having their own meeting while the rest of us watched. I believe this is why the meeting attendance dropped. Another important thing that I didn’t realize was going to happen when we moved to this school was they would be sharing a campus with a middle/high school. It seems to be a bit of a safety issue as that age group brings their own set of issues. There is also a more serious “safety issue” on the campus that I have brought to the attention of the administration on several occasions and the last response about whether or not the issue would be corrected was “if it’s in the budget.” I am so sad to have to take my kids away from this school as they made great friends and had amazing teachers, but it is not safe for them to be at this school. In conclusion, please beware if you are thinking about this campus, and any parent of a special needs child, RUN!

They care. The teachers are mature, educated adults. Great communicative skills which is what a lot of teachers lack in other schools when dealing with overload. These teachers seem to handle things very well.

Great staff and great teaching methods. I've seen patience in all the staff. They are very organized and it's evident they really care about the kids' education.
