Rushton is a wonderful school with a diverse and growing community. There have been several new young energetic teachers added in the past few years, and most of the veteran teachers are stellar. There is a wholesome small town feel. Administrators and supplemental staff know your student and family members by name. They offer pre-k, wrap-around care, and several extra curricular activities. Be careful believing what you may hear about this school. We had heard horrible things about Rushton, but we decided to give it a try with our oldest. We are so glad we did! Our students are thriving! There seems to be a resurgence happening in this school, bolstered by a new building and growing enrollment.

Don't get fooled by the 4/10 rating on Zillow. It does not reflect the school's caring environment and commitment to its students. It's a small school where the staff will know your kid's name and favorite things to do!! My kid loves going to this school, the staff is awesome, and has a strong relationship with the community.

They don't acknowledge different leaning styles, my son was very irritated with his teachers not being able to explain things differently. When my son got his first 100% the teacher emailed me about a concern with mixing up numbers, instead of just celebrating his first perfect score. The parking sucks, as does do off and pick up. This school is NOT what it used to be: the 4th grade teacher has reported to be a bully by a few students at playground (no suprise there, she was my bully in middle school until I stood up to her). The 3rd grade teacher mumbles most times and the kids don't know what she's saying (I had her in 5th grade, nothing has changed), and I'm not waiting around for 5-6 th grade. Good riddens..

Our family has been a part of the Rushton family for going on 7 years. This year, there has been quite a bit of turn over including the principal. For the most part, Rushton has served us well. It has a welcoming atmosphere and we have always been encouraged to be involved. Just like in ANY school setting, some teachers and administrators are more effective than others. Academically, it has been a bit frustrating this year. But, overall, I know my child has enjoyed their experience at Rushton.

Very good school as far as now. I don't know why the rating is 3 for this school. Do we really need to care about this rating?

Small class size is a plus for our young daughter. So far her two teachers have been an excellent match for her and very motivating. We like all of the PTA events and extra curricular activities offered. I feel like they are invested in the culture of Mission and promote activities that tie in a sense of community. The one negative I see is that we are asked to supply a lot of classroom items and snacks, gifts and events for the staff and teachers. I prefer to do these things individually rather than being asked all the time. That might be the way schools handle things these days with budget cuts and all...

2 of my 3 children have gone the ought Rushton. It is absolutely wonderful school. The teachers and staff are very caring and are willing to do anything to help a child succeed. I can't wait for youngest child start school here in 3 years!!!

I am so far not impressed with the level of helpfulness of the teachers/staff. Many of my messages/requests for guidance go unanswered or ignored.
