I have just graduated from Excel High School and I want to tell everyone about the wonderful experience I have had with this high school. My life as a high school student was completely opposite to what I went through during the elementary and grammar school periods. My house is located in Bucharest, Romania. My parents moved me from school to school because of the bullying, unfriendly teachers I had in every school (including School No. 5 in the very center of Bucharest!), who always looked down on me and rejected every one of my ideas and initiatives. My sister and I became extremely shy and lost all trust in ourselves under such conditions.Well, Excel High School was like a new morning, with a brightly shining sun in a cloudless sky. I gradually regained my self-confidence. I learned at my own pace and only took tests and exams when I felt comfortable and well-prepared. All teachers went to great lengths to answer my questions and send me supplementary materials when I needed them. They spoke to me like angels in heaven and encouraged me and gave me their support all the steps of the way. And I will always be grateful to Stacy McNeill, the supervisor, who never let me slip into depression and self depreciation and was always there when I needed help of any kind.My grades have been mostly A and I have had the feeling of re-birth when I graduated. Thank you so very much, Excel High School! Thank you, God, for giving me this chance! And many thanks to my Dad, who had the courage to enroll me in an American High School, as he wanted to protect me from the wickedness of Romanian so-called "teachers." And many thanks to my Mom, who trusted my Dad's judgment and resoluteness.Anamaria Poenaru, Bucharest, Romania
