It used to be a great school and the teachers reflected that. After the CDD and change in admin the school stopped caring about families and kids real needs. Since 2020 the staff that have left continue to reflect the administrations lack of love for the kids and families they are meant to support

Our daughter also just finished her kindergarten year at Lyndale. We're 3 weeks into summer, and she continues to ask when she can return. We are so lucky to have found a school we all love. Our experience with the staff and teachers has been wonderful. A lot of caring and engaged souls! This is truly a hidden Minneapolis gem.

Our daughter is just finishing her kindergarten year. She has thrived and grown in so many ways at Lyndale. Her teachers have helped her love school, which is so important to us as parents. I have been a teacher for 15 years, and I was happy with the learning and opportunies Lyndale provided.

We have been so happy at Lyndale. There are amazing teachers and staff who work to create such a warm and welcoming environment for ALL families. They have so many great systems in place to meet kids at their ability level and give them the confidence to succeed. Small class sizes and great arts offerings are also really appreciated. Walking in as a parent feels like you are entering the perfect mixture of calmness and enthusiasm for learning. My kids love going to school here each day. It is a hidden gem and every family we know who attends here has glowing things to say about it.

We have been at Lyndale School for two years with our kids just wrapping up 4th grade and 1st grade. Lyndale is our community school, and I won't lie that at first the low rating on this site gave us pause. However, we have found Lyndale to be a great learning environment for our kids and I highly recommend it to anyone. The teachers are caring and highly engaged, many live in the community and their own kids attend the school. The teacher to student ratios are much better than other nearby schools. Both of our kids were given the standardized test for and were identified as "advanced learners" and they get the differentiation they need to stay challenged and both are ahead of grade level. We love the diversity of the school and the ELL kids get what they need to support their continued language development. Lyndale has great arts programs as well with a full orchestra and band and a well-loved and effective band teacher. Overall, we love this school and sense of community we have with the other families and I hope others within our neighborhood realize the gem this school is and send their kids as well.

My daughter is in her 5th year and my son his 2nd year at Lyndale. They have always been at the very top of all of the standardized tests. Dedicated, highly skilled teachers provide structured yet innovative lesson plans. The principal and vice-principal and other administrative staff run a tight ship that fosters learning and teacher excellence. Diversity is celebrated and explored. All students--no matter learning level--are treated with respect, expected to improve, and given the tools to better themselves academically and socially.

Lyndale Community School is a nurturing environment that stretches my children's learning. It's a community that celebrates diversity, educates the whole child and creates learning opportunities that cannot be found at other Minneapolis public schools. Lyndale Community School has a full time Differentiated Learning Specialist (aka Gifted and Talented specialist). Student to staff ration is approximately 7 to 1.

We love Lyndale, our neighborhood school. My son just finished Kindergarten. His teacher was simply amazing -- highly skilled, able to manage and motivate a very diverse group of kids at lots of different academic levels and still be a lot of fun. I especially appreciate how hard she worked to make sure kids reading above grade level were also challenged. Very involved parents, a warm welcoming school for all.

We are so happy at Lyndale! My daughter started kindergarten this year and she loves her teacher and classmates. She is thoroughly engaged in her academics and is supported and challenged accordingly. We have a wonderful principal who gives her all and the teachers are amazing. There is a great sense of togetherness and a great attitude throughout this school.

The city needs to spend more time watching this school. The teacher my child has is the worst teacher I have ever experienced. Very bossy and not nurturing at all. When I go into the building, I just get a depressed feeling. The school is behind on everything. Even school pictures are not taken until November.

Both of my daughters love Lyndale Community School. Lyndale is a diverse urban school with strong leadership, a great teaching staff, and a high level of parent and community involvement. Lyndale is among MPS s highest performers in year-to-year academic achievement. Lyndale School provides a strong sense of community. Everyone feels welcome there.

Our principal provides excellent leadership for a school that is open and welcoming of all students. The teachers are especially talented at identifying each child's academic needs and providing differentiated instruction. Classes are small and diverse.
