My children have been bullied since day one at Field School. The students curse like grown-ups. They harass them and physically attack them. The staff repeatedly take the other student' side and interrogate my kids, intimidating them and telling them they are lying. even making them change their story, just like they did in "THE CENTRAL PARK 5". Another student threatened to shoot one of mine. One of my children has a learning deficit an is not sure yet about "binary stuff" so he is teased about that also. No teacher (conveniently) ever witnesses anything. The kids beg every day and every night not to have to go back to Field School. one child's behavior at home has changed and gotten worse. He says he hates his life and he's gonna lose it. The staff laughs and repeatedly denies anything is happening, even when I told them another student witnessed it.

I went to this school for all four years. It was horrible. The kids were awful to me and my friends. The school dealt horribly with the harassment of my friends and I, taking the girl who was harassing us side. The school repeatedly ignored reports of a sucidal student. I have multiple learning disabilities and I was not supported by teachers. One teacher constantly berated us for being horrible, and showed us scaring pictures of the aftermath of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings when we were 11/12. I could go on.

I have had my son and daughter in Field and Hale its K-4 partner. If the child stays in the described "lane" they do well. As is the case with my daughter. However my son struggles with ADHD and there is no support for a child who outside the student profile. As a result he consistently struggles.

My daughter just entered 5th grade at Field. She is very happy and we are impressed with the curriculum.

My son attended Field for 5th grade and I have to say he really enjoyed school a lot more since he didn't have to spend all day In one class with the same teacher. His grades were excellent and I feel as though the teachers care how he does and they care about his well being. My son was bullied by another student and the teachers helped to resolve the problem. The teachers also emailed me back If I had any questions or concerns about my son's assignments. This school has a lot to offer. The music program Is excellent and Ms Hotchkiss Is an excellent band teacher. Also, my son loved his science class, he had so much fun learning. I have so many great things to say and limited space... We are looking forward to 6th grade!

Field school is a great school for my daughter, however not so much for my son who has learning disabilities.

Field has very engaged, dedicated teachers and staff, a very successful student population-test scores are routinely high- and more GT opportunities than any schools near it. The parent community is very engaged as well, but they tend to be quite a closed community that is wary of 'outsiders'. The students, while very motivated to learn and do well, are quite intolerant of other kids who value their individuality. This is definitely a Mean Girls school. Currently, I give Field 4 stars because of the student climate: it's hard for many to learn when you're not valued or respected by peers.
