I AM NOT HAPPY WITH SCHOOL POLICY AS TO DROP OFF FOR 4K AND 5K STUDENTS. THE PRINCIPAL HAS DEEMED IT NECESSARY TO HAVE THEM DROPPPED OFF AT THE FRONT DOOR AT VARIOUS TIMES..NO WARNING..CARS ARE LINED UP AND STUDENTS AND PARENTS ARE ON PLAYGROUND..AND THEN NOTIFIED TO GO TO FRONT DOOR. SO ALL LINED UP ON STREET HAVE TO GO TO FRONT!! THEN SIGN IN TO TAKE THEIR STUDENT TO CLASS. WHY>????? I WAS TOLD AT THE START OF THE SCHOOL YR THEY WOULD STOP DOING THIS AND DO ALL DROP OFF AT SIDE DOOR RIGHT BY STUDENTS CLASS ROOMS. WHY IS THIS NOT HAPPENING? I AM VERY UNSETTLED WITH HOW THIS IS BEING HANDLED BY THE PRINCIPAL...SET UP A SYSTEM AND LEAVE IT LIKE THAT!! DO NOT HAVE PARENTS WAITING TO DROP OFF KIDS AND THEN REALIZE THEY HAVE TO GO TO THE FRONT DOOR!! THIS MAKES NO SENSE. KIDS CLASSROOMS ARE RIGHT BY THE SIDE DOOR!!! WHY????????

Teachers are mean. I sat in class one day because of an event going on and I could not believe how teachers treat our kids!! I asked my daughter if her teacher treated her this way and she said only if she didn't know how to do something!!! I felt horrible as soon as I could I got them out of there! Office people were rude! They don't teach your student if they didn't know how to do the work they were sent home with it! I don't recommend this school to anyone. Believe your student when they say the teacher is mean.

AAL staff holds high expectations of the students and works hard to help the students achieve their goals. My daughter loves her teacher and loves to learn. She has art, music, gym and Spanish. She comes home each day with stories about what she's learning and is excited to be at school each day. It is a safe caring school.

My son went here for first grade through fifth grade, I can't say enough positive things about the teachers, staff, safety, comfort and learning environment at the school. My son also enjoyed the opportunity to learn piano, foreign language, art, and gym class as well. It really felt like family here.

This is my daughter's first year at Alcott. She transferred from a different school, and I was a little apprehensive because we loved her old school, but I can say we are very happy with our choice. Alcott is great, the staff and students and I am very impressed with their academic accomplishments. I would definitely recommend Alcott to other families.

Alcott is a small school, offering a more personal level learning environment, where kids and teachers interact more, which I like.

The best part of Alcott is the teachers. I admire the dedication that each and every one puts into making our children one step closer to an advanced education.

Nice, close knit school. Teachers have a personable relationship with both students and parents. I would recommmend this school to other parents.

This is my daughter's first year at Alcott. Her teacher is wonderful and the staff is very polite. My daughter also sees the school speech pathologist for her speech delay and I am very happy with the progress my daughter is making. So far I am very pleased with Alcott and will be sending my daughter back next year.

Alcott school is great. We transferred to Alcott when we moved. Alcott got my oldest son on track with school. They understood that he had ADHD and helped him get things worked out. He is now in high school and being successful. Two of my children still go there. All the teachers are great and really care about the kids. They support the kids in and out of school. I could not ask for a better school for my kids to go to.

This was a great neighborhood school years ago, however it has declined terribly. Some Teachers talk like they are from the Ghetto and are not the caring, loving, respectful Teachers that we all knew and loved. Swearing, Stealing, Bullying is rampant, and although they say they dont tolerate it, they do. This school did nothing for my Son except belittle him and pushed down what little self esteem he had. Do your homework before deciding on this school. Dont just review comments, but actually talk to parents and the Teachers. Interview them as though you were applying for a job. These people are going to be spending the entire day with your child. Your children deserve respect, just as the Teachers/Office Staff demand it. They should be just as mindful to your Children.

Had my son in school for Pre-Kindergarten. Elderly teacher yelled at kids, and resisted involvement from parents inside classroom. Raised issues with Principal who was no help and did not want to get involved. Hired outside psychologist from Chilldren's hospital who observed class and said we needed to get our child out ASAP. If you care about your kids, get them out of Alcott.
