We love Far Brook School! As parents of young children in the Lower School, we could not be any happier with or more appreciative of our experience at Far Brook. The play-based, experiential, progressive curriculum is engaging and joyful for our children, and also grounded in strong academic rigor. The faculty and staff are creative, flexible, supportive and open with communication; we feel like a part of a team working with them to truly understand our children for who they are and what they need. Additionally, we feel fortunate to be part of such a close-knit, diverse and inclusive community of families. Most importantly, our children are eager to go to school every morning, and excited to share their day every afternoon.

Far Brook provides a nurturing, yet rigorous, environment for students of all ages and enables them to develop a love of learning. The students gain a depth of understanding that is truly unique and remarkable. The school also provides differentiated learning that enables students to find a pace of learning that is a good fit for the individual. The parent community is extremely engaged and supportive of the faculty. Far Brook is also committed to social justice, equity and inclusion and has provided numerous educational opportunities for both students and parents during the parent several months. The transition to remote learning was outstanding in the Spring of 2020, and the teachers and faculty have worked tirelessly to provide a safe environment for students to learn in person during the Fall of 20202. The "can do" attitude has been amazing.

I attended Far Brook School from 1984-1992 and am incredibly happy to have my children attending the school now. Far Brook has stayed true to its core values of creating an environment where children can be children and where learning is a passion. I couldn’t imagine sending my children to another school.

We love Far Brook! We are so grateful to have sent our children to this school, where they believe in learning by doing. Students learn by exploring the natural world around them, guided by top-notch teachers who know how to both challenge and nurture children. Because it is an intentionally small school, students at every grade level participate in drama, music, science and athletics. They support each other in the lab, on the field and in artistic productions. Lots of individual attention from the faculty. The N/K-8 model is important. Close-knit environment really pays off as the older kids become leaders for the younger ones, and they are allowed to grow up in an academically rigorous, yet supportive, environment. Far Brook achieves excellent academic results without being a high-pressured environment. Now that our kids are several years past graduation, we see the lasting benefits of a Far Brook education: self-confidence, a willingness to try new things and a life-long desire to learn.

My daughter attended Far Brook School from Nursery through 8th grade. When I watch my daughter approach the writing process with ease, when I admire the ease in which she communicates verbally with all ages of individuals, her language, her vocabulary, her appreciation for literature and art while at the same time handling advanced computational problems without stress, I applaud Far Brook for its leadership, the attentiveness and heart of its teachers and the dedication of all faculty. I celebrate my now 17 year old girl daily and I give kudos to this school for helping me raise a beautiful person.

My 3 children attend this gem of a school. We are so grateful for the opportunity to raise them partnered with a community that shares our own values of creating lifelong learners. They are thriving, happy, blossoming and carefree kids! The outdoor spaces here are beautiful and the new science, art, music and wood shop buildings are set to open in Jan. 2016. I'm so excited that they are able to learn in this amazing space.

Both my children went to Far Brook from k to 8th grade and had an exceptional experience. Far Brook is able to intergrate the core subject with the Arts and Music. They are exposed to a broad array of theater and music which include the classic playwrites. Not only do they perform plays but they actually understand the content of what they are doing. Exceptional teachers intergrate the subject to real life and the children are extremely well prepared to continue the eduction at the best schools NJ has to offer. Many students comment in retrospect about the great experience they had at Far Brook. There is almost 100% of parent involement coupled with expert leadership which made Far Brook a very special place for my family. Classes are small and children get the attention they need to thrive. I highly recommend Far Brook

I am a current 8th grader and I love every aspect of Far Brook. The best part is that everyone there wants to do the best they possibly can which creating a very possitive enviorment. The school's great acedemics show when the 8th graders get their ssat/isee scores. The ssat's are normally high 70s 80s and 90s(I overall ranked in the 91 percentile)as with it isee's(I got 87%). The boys play Soccer and Baseball, the girls play Field Hockey and Lacrosse. Everyone is on the team and gets playing time. We have a very strong arts program and we start the day with "Morning Meeting" where all the students sit on the floor and listen to a presentation, we finish it singing. The older students are heavily involved with the younger students who view the upper schoolers as role models. There is no bullying at all and when my class had problems the school hired a pyschiatrist immediatly. The principle is outstanding and cares deeply about each student.. The people applying out go to top private schools such as Pingry, Lawrenceville, Newark Academy, Deerfield, Gill St. Bernerds, Delbarton and Kent Place among others. If you send your chld here this could be the best thing you ever do for them.
