I had a very negative experience at this school. I was treated poorly by a fellow co-worker and my principal defended her. The principal intimidated me continually. The students were mostly disrespectful and could care less about learning. Yes there were some exceptions and some nice students but not the majority. The special education expectations were ridiculous and not alot of support given and was told to figure it out by the powers that be. It was my worst work experience of my life. Definitely experienced reverse racism. Thankful to be gone.

My child has some amazing teachers and is involved in sports. Communication could be better but it has improved since last year. The only thing I wish there was more of is parent involvement in the school

Over all the school is pretty okay. Anywhere you go there would be problems in schools which is normal. Besides some of the students I had fun an learned a great deal of stuff. There isn’t all good teachers but if the ones I had are still there your child is in for a best friend and trusting adult, which there isn’t many.

if you care about your child, don't send them here. it's not worth it. i attended this school for two years and left for my 8th year as things got worse for me to handle. this school is heavily ableist and racist. i am a former asian student and all i got bombarded with were chinese slurs due to my eye type and where i came from unless you're really pretty you won't be treated with respect for someone who's asian. the teachers do nothing about the racism and ableism toward students. they just brush it off and go on with their day; it isn't worth it. the only outcome of this school is that your child will be traumatized by these events. not even the connections between teachers and activities will keep your child afloat. everything in this school is just extremely and sadly forced. the students here are god awful. none of them know how to keep their mouths shut and don't know how to respect anyone. even when you say one little thing it will get out to other people and your reputation will be quite ruined. i have woke up day after day crying because i didn't want to go to school and constantly faking sick just so i could take the day off. the teachers don't know what they're doing and neither do the counselors. i asked to see the counselor many different times throughout the school year, from to august then to april. got no response as an introverted student. everyone here expects you to talk and do things verbally. they don't care about your needs or boundaries. they will cross it down to where they find it fair in their eyes. i don't care if i only attended in person for a year, it was the worst year of my entire life. no one will respect you if you're not white or black. everything in between to them, you're absolutely nothing. i have been sexually verbally harassed and received no help. all the students and teachers think it's all fun and games. i don't care if they're underpaid. at least have them do the bare minimum of anything. the only teacher i received help from was my math teacher, someone who everyone hated because she was actually fair and knew what she was doing. she's so sweet and kind to everyone but yet they treat her like garbage. she is the only teacher who cared about my grades and helped me pass the grade level. no one here has a sense of kindness or respect, and i can say this from experience. it's a waste of time and a traumatizing experience. don't waste your time on this stupid school.

The WORST school ever. If you're white, forget about any kind of help. The principal was heard by numerous students saying white people shouldn't be at school. We've asked numerous times about math help/tutoring for our daughter and never got it. Nobody cares about bullying. The only good thing about the school is band. The band teacher helps my child with her math more then the teachers cause no one here cares about the students, they're here for a paycheck, teachers could care less about the students.

This school is the worst school I have ever been to. The teachers have no care for the potential and/or personal well being of students. Teachers have personally told me that I am a loser, and will always be a loser to her. As you sit in the classroom your realize that their is no actual teaching going on or being experienced. Be aware this school and the teachers who work here or occupy this schools staff could care less for the success of students attending.

We changed jobs and moved just to get out of this school district. Go there in person. Take a tour. Talk to the students and staff. Talk to the locals. Ask questions! The best perspective and review is your own. For the sake of your child please do your research on this school before your committed. We will not return to ANY Liberty County schools.

As much as i love this school for the education, i have a couple problems with it, First off, the front office is HIGHLY disorgenized, barely anything gets done there, half the time i go up to the guidence office almost allways there's staff members scrambling around trying to find out "where this file goes" or "where that one goes" a good example being the school events. The students get the pappers announcing those events litterally TWO days before it happens, let it being McTeachers night or a faimly game night at the school, ive had multible cases where ive gotten a letter informing me about a thing the school is doing THAT SAME NIGHT that my mom cannot take off work. Another problem i have with MMS is the exessive amount of fights/bullying problems, throughout the school year me, my friends, and people i dont even know get bullied, the thing is, my school does NOTHING about it! this is coming from a 8th grader too! litterally i came home CRYING due to the bullying issues i have here, i went to the school councilers reguarding an issue i have with another student bullying me, all she did was make me fill out a bullying fourm and send me back to class.

I rate this school five stars because of my experience dealing with other schools in different zones. Having read other parents reviews I felt obligated to voice my opinion. currently I have two kids attending midway middle, they attended for over two years. We are happy with the school. Yes the room for improvement is there, however everyone need to help to fill the room. Every problem I had was handled properly, and I give all the thanks and praise to the principal, teachers and staff for their involvement. I strongly recommend this school to shape and educate kids for the world that faces ahead. Thanks to all the staff of mms.

Summary 1. Poor communications all the way around. Parent portal always wrong or broken, and auto calls and web site not fully informative of school events, a lot of staff avoid doing their jobs. Parents would be more involved if better informed! 2. Insane bullying and harassment. From teachers and other students. School will not help. 0 tolerance not used. Had to call law to get action. Also, teachers calling out students in front of peers humiliating them on personal matters! 3. Teachers refuse to communicate to students about how they are doing. Students refused results of grades in very sarcastic ways and told to have parents check the portal that is always broken. Kids have no idea how they are doing or where they stand! 4. School won't work with families for solutions. I was disrespected and talked to like I was an idiot! If they treat adults that way then how to they treat kids when parents aren't there! Husband waited 3 hrs to talk to principal after that! 5. Poorly organized! The kids don't even know what's going on most of the time. I now home school. Avoid this school, it's not a good place for any kid to be learning. Good luck if you can't avoid them. Thanks!

It's a great school with alot of wonderful teachers and amazing programs. I think more parent involvement would help out a great deal.

This is by far the worst school i have ever encountered . My son went here after we moved from Tennessee for two months, that was more than enough . In those two months he was denied lunch twice because he owed 1.00 on his account, he was bullied for weeks by 5 boys that tried to fight him almost everyday, and was called very inappropriate names in front of teachers/staff and nothing was done. I withdrew him and now home school him. My advice is if your children are white do not let them go here period. In my opinion this school practices reverse racism .

I have two children, one has completed all three grades at MMS & one is still attending this school. My children have experienced the typical middle school problems, but every one of my concerns has been addressed by the administration. The front office needs to be better organized & I feel the support staff could use a lesson in "customer service". Overall, this is a good school and most of the teachers are in it for the right reasons!
