Mt. Peak is an amazing school and has helped my children succeed in so many ways! I have one child that has a learning disability and they have gone above and beyond to help with special accommodations.

My 3 kids have been attending Mt. Peak since my oldest was in 1st grade. He is special needs and I cannot brag enough on his special needs team!! Every teacher, diagnostician, aide, principal, etc. has been 100% supportive of him and me over the years. They are so invested in my son that we call them his school family. He is well prepared for middle school next year because of them. Mrs. Thompson was a phenomenal principal and handed the reins over to Dr. Swize last year. Dr. Swize hit the ground running and continued Mt. Peak’s great track record, even through a pandemic and Covid precautions. Yikes! The drop off line (as silly as this is) is the most organized machine I have ever witnessed. Even at the back of the line, the longest I’ve waited to pick up my kids was 15 minutes. Great work!

The school does not honor kindergarten graduation nor does it honor the students with end of year school awards. They push education through "self taught videos" on ipads/computers instead of actually teaching. If you have a student with speical needs or learning disabilities, they try their best to not place them into sped so that their "numbers" do not look bad. Instead they will label them as "504" and say they will make accommodations within the classroom and it never happens or they will place them in "rti" and it never happes. I have never seen a school, especially one that receives this huge amount of money from our taxes and they do so little for the students. Some of the teachers allow students to bully other students without stopping or reporting the behavior. What does that teach the kids? Where is the care and love for the actual student?!?!? Working at a school should be much more than just a paycheck.

Shannon Thompson has no leadership and is one of the worst Principles we have ever had. She is weak and causes disention within the staff. Our scores have went down, as they did when she was at a previous elementary school in the district. I find her eager to gossip and mean spirited.

We love Mt. Peak! This is my sons last year here before middle school and I feel so grateful he has been surrounded by the wonderful staff over his elementary career. He started needing speech services in 4th grade and it was a hard time for him. But his teachers, speech therapist, and admin all worked with us to get a plan in place and I began noticing a difference in his speech and confidence right away. I was so grateful for how caring & supportive everyone was during that time.

Mt. Peak is driven to provide an excellent education to all of our students. We consider our parents, students, and staff to all be part of our family, and treat everyone as so. We teach our children not only academic skills, but the leadership skills they need to be successful in today's fast pace world. I am so grateful to teach at a school that is based on such a solid foundation, with a staff working together to design lessons to drive our students success.

I have put 3 children through this school, and we all have loved it! The teachers are passionate and compassionate towards the students. The principle is top notch! She is very engaged and truly cares! I've never seen a more dedicated school principle! I can't say enough about how wonderful this school is!
