Lack of diversity. Academics not challenging. No homework to encourage learning outside of the classroom. It's shocking that this school is rated this high.

While the school itself is a bit dated, being built in the Open Classroom setting of the 70s it has everything a child needs to succeed. A computer lab, Art, Music, Gym, a part time Renzuli instructor, a great staff and children who want to learn. I'm not sure what issues the poster above had with mean children/uncaring staff, but the new children I've seen are always welcomed by the current children and are usually the most popular for the first few weeks. Volunteering is easy and very much an important part of the MES community. The PTA facilitates many programs for the children: Spelling Bee, Reflections, Book It, Scholastic Book Fair, Back to School Night, 5Ks, Cultural Arts programs etc.

This school was a nightmare for my family. We were one of several new families to the area and school, the children were mean and non welcoming to new kids. Staff could care less.
