This school is amazing. Period, I graduated in 2013 and to this day I still think of the school. That school has maintained its perfect A school record. Yes the school is old but the teachers and staff are caring, kind, and so thoughtful. I was there from kinder to 5th grade. I don't know what some parents say now the school is bad dirty and that the staff are rude and gossip because it isn't true. If you want to put your children in this school I highly reccomend it

SOME teachers and members of the staff are beyond rude. Like walk past you in the hallway and not say hi rude. Like gather in groups of 4 or 5 and gossip about students parents rude. Like laugh in lunch about how a single mother was crying to one of the teachers when she was speaking about her ex husband walking out on them and how hard it was rude. Kids are great, they actually leave home learning something but some of these women (because there is no male faculty except the coach) need to learn manners or re evaluate their worth in the world. Their pompous "know it all" attitude is laughable. Some have maybe spent simply too much time with the children they are teaching and started revolving their personalities and manners around them apparently. This is an honest review, and if someone is in doubt they need not go farther than a few steps away from a group of teachers to hear the negative comments they spew from their mouths. Principle and other office staff is great, including a FEW teachers here and there.

After reading a few of the most recent negative reviews I've decided, as a parent who's daughter attends this school, to also post my review because I find some of the recent reviews unjust. My daughter is currently in 2nd grade. She has been enrolled in Springview since kinder. I have NEVER had a bad experience so far.- In kinder she had Dr. Turner and Ms. Santos as teachers. - In 1st grade she had Ms. Hermida and Ms. Fernandez as teachers.- Currently she has Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Menendez. With all 6 teachers I have always been able to communicate, if not in person, definitely by phone and ALWAYS via email. Never has there been a lack of communication, ever. From day 1, every school year I have informed the teachers that YES, I am that parent that is involved, that does ask questions, that does check the parent portal, that does have her phone set up to receive emails whenever grades are posted, and if anything they THANK ME for being involved.Ms. Terry and Ms. Natalia in the front office are always welcoming and friendly if you ever have a concern.Regarding homework, I do not think that it's too much. My daughter has dance class 3 times a week (during the week) and is always able to come home and finish her homework in a timely manner, has dinner and is in bed by 9pm. Regarding the school grounds, yes the school was built in the 50's and needs an overhaul, but it's always clean. The revamping of the school is not a decision that is left to the teachers and principal, the school district is the one that decides that. Take it up with the school district.

My son spent 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade here. The teacher in first grade Ms. Fernandez is out of this world extraordinary. Second and third grade gifted was awful. Poor communication, lack of effort from teachers, dirty school...honestly not a good school in an upper class neighborhood. I don't understand the grading of a ten because honestly on many levels it is lacking. Academically it is lacking, administratively it is lacking, in cleanliness it is lacking... Not a good school choice in my opinion.

I agree with both posts. Springview Elem. needs to be renovated, very old and dirty. That being said, I have two kids attending that school since Pre-K. My son has been failed time and time again from the lack of caring from some teachers and extreme lack of communication between the parents and teacher. I am very disappointed with the school system in Miami, very poor! I too am thinking of moving to Martin County (ie Stuart, Palm City.. ) up north, where all schools are A+ rated and kids have a different upbringing/education then the kids in Miami and teachers are move engaged in the students progress... Martin County here I come!

I agreed with the previous post. Unfortunately we had a horrible experience with the office staff at springview, the person in charge of admisions was extremely rude. It is sad to have such negative experiences in a school that is an A+. We really hope the school makes some changes. We love Miami Springs, however we are planing to move to a better school district. Our daughter is currently enrolled in a private school.

NO Stars for Springview. We had our son transferred out because this school is horrible. It was a content nightmare. Teachers have favorites, the school staff is also bad. No one is friendly! There is no respect for parents who want to be involved with their child's education. Miami dade county schools should really reevaluate this school and the witch of the principles.

For starters, the Spanish program is useless.Students only do worksheets that they are given the answers to and write things down, afterwards we just talk. The best things about the school are the reading and science programs. Most of the teachers are really nice, but they pick favorites and some bully students to a certain degree and don't have justice for some students. Once, a student went into another's phone and sent a text to everybody saying f u and the student who's phone it was got in trouble.

My son went to Pre-Kinder and it's a great school. Teachers are great and they work with the parents. The staff is great. I had a great experience last year.

Springview is a wonderfiul school. I have 3 children, one has already moved to middle school. Springview did an excellent job preparing him for 6th grade. I have 2 that still attend. They have excellent teachers with strong leadership and strong administration. We also speak only english in our home. I am very pleased with the bilingual program. Another big key to success is parental cooperation and daily involvement. I really couldn't have asked for a better school. Blessings.

This school is horrible! I had my children transferred, because of how poorly the school is run. The BISOL program does nothing but hinder the children's learning experience. The district should really reevaluate this schools and its program. It is not benifical for the student or the parents.

This school has excellent teachers and a wonderful PTA. Parents and teachers alike are involved.

Springview elementary is a great! The school prepares students to function in a global society by offering instruction in both English and Spanish. In addition, the staff and learning community go above and beyond to meet the needs of the students. Working together with the PTA and the community we are able to garnish resources to assist our student's learning.

This school has been awesome for both my kids. The teachers are almost all local and live in the Springs. It's a bilingual school so all kids get half-day in Spanish.

Springview was great when I attended the school years ago, and I was fortunate to give my children the same opportunity; however, today the school has more to offer the children and the parents. I love this school.
