My daughter has been attending Southside Preparatory Academy since kindergarten. We have been part of this school for five years. All the teachers and the administration are amazing, and they are genuinely interested in each student’s education and well-being. They know every student by name. The administration greets us in the morning during drop-off and pick-up, no matter what the Florida weather brings. They always welcome you and your child with great enthusiasm and smiles on their faces. All the teachers are very communicative with the parents. Since they work closely with the parents, any potential issues can be addressed right away. My daughter loves going to school every day. We have never had any bullying issues.The school also has an amazing full-time gifted program with an accelerated curriculum. As Harvard-educated parents, we are really impressed with the education. In addition to academics, there are many social activities such as museum trips, concerts, and science fairs for the students and numerous after school student clubs. There are fun activities for each season and every holiday and celebration. Just check out Southside’s Instagram page, and you will see the happy children and the school’s activities!The safety is top-notch. They always have a full-time police officer at the school. Southside has the best PTA; all the parents are very communicative and supportive, making a huge difference for their students. Involvement makes the difference. This is the village will definitely help you to raise your child. I would definitely recommend this school! I would like to thank you all of our teachers and Ms. Tellez with all the administration team for everything.

sorry not sorry but this is prob the worst school i sent my child to the paint is old on the school lunch walls and a lights are flickering and also my son got beat up and the school did not even try to do anything exept call me and say *your son got in a fight* and he gets bulled every day but he dose nothing because he knows the school wont do anything. dont take your childs it is not worth it at ALL!

I use to this school and I am glad to say I left it. This school gives horrible food and the cafeteria is full of cockroaches(not only the cafeteria). The staff can be really rude. Trust me when I say it is better to go to another school.

I just moved here from New York and this this school is a very different 8/10 than what I am used to. The principal and assistant principal don't ever respond to me, the teachers ignore me, they don't ever notify you with anything. My daughter was talking to her friend all day and emailing back and fourth while in class and I wasn't even notified of anything. I moved to this area because the school was an 8/10 but maybe the reviews are misleading. I will be registering my kids in private school next year. Also very unorganized with online schooling and physical schooling and picking and dropping kids off to school. Everything is a mess I don't even know where to start. When I first tried to transfer my kids the registrar told me if she has time they will be registered before school starts and if not then they just have to catch up with their teacher whenever she finds time to register them. I contacted the head of the district and they forwarded the message to the principle and it was taken care of but that just shows how corrupt things are.

I absolutely love everything about this school. We transferred from another school about 1 month after school starting and we have had such a pleasant experience. The comparison of the schools is night and day. I am actively involved in the school activities which I highly recommend. Involvement is key.

I am so proud to say my child is a student at such a great school. In the last 2 years I've seen her progress grow very rapidly. I am also very thankful for the teachers she has had. Not only are they very knowledgable but they keep great communication with me. Parent's can't expect for there children to excel if they don't help out as well. Teachers do as much as they can at school, but it's the parent's responsibility to push their kids and help them. Don't expect the teachers to do it all for you...Check there blue folders daily, revise their homework, send them to school on time, fed and clean. Remember you are helping them create their future. These beautiful young minds are our future! Thank you Southside Elementary! Looking forward to all the fun activities at school that are coming up.

I had have my children’s in this school for over 3 years and I love the they are so open to parents to be involved on our kids education, teachers are amazing and Pta es strong, the environment in school is really good, since Miami is a multicultural city, our kids are very tolerant with one another.

My son has completed 1 school year in the Southside and now is on his 2 year of school. The constantly contribution of the PTA team and its new board of directors in the school have shown recently a great difference, the school community -students and parents- are very happy for the new journey and this is a good reason to make our school the best and continues on the Magnet Schools A groups. As a parent, it is very important that our kids have a very good environment daily and they can feel motivation to go to the school everyday very happy!All the teachers are very well prepared and in general, all the personnel involved are very kind and take great care for all the children. We are very glad that our son feels good and has an Excellent grades in Soutside !!!

This school is a very good choice! Teachers are well prepared and dedicated. Their PTA is so strong and committed, continuously working on different ways, events and improvements for the children. The school and PTA give parents the opportunity of being involved in the school, volunteering in whatever area they feel comfortable. They have improved the teacher-parent communications. Homeworks are reasonable. The atmosphere is nice and diversity is also positive

Great School. My kid has been attending since PK. They have a very active PTA, teachers are well prepared, the new principal is very nice and cares about the well being of students and the image of Southside. My daughter loves the school. She has Great Friends and Great teachers.

Now that school is back on track I am happy to see that things at Southside just continue to get better. Parent involvement is so important in the lives of children. Also feeling that you belong makes it exciting. This school has changed so much in the past few years for the better!Teachers and faculty are amazing!
