Riviera Preparatory School doesn’t live up to its "good" reputation. Despite the high tuition and polished marketing, the experience falls short. The atmosphere is competitive and often harsh, with disrespectful students and a staff that’s more focused on appearances than genuinely supporting students or fostering a positive school community. When children or groups face challenges, those struggles often go unnoticed until they become too big to ignore. The values they promote aren’t reflected in everyday life—it’s more about patching up issues as they arise, rather than proactively addressing them. If you want your child to thrive in a respectful, healthy environment with proper attention and support, this isn’t the place for them.

At this school, my experience was quite disappointing. I found the atmosphere to be unwelcoming, with many students displaying mean and rude behavior, often without facing any consequences. It seemed that the administration was biased, favoring children of faculty members, which created an unfair environment for others. Bullying was a significant issue, making it difficult for students to feel safe and supported. From my observations, the situation has been deteriorating year after yea.

MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING! My son attended Riviera for three years. He loved his teachers and the athletic department is top notch. However, the administrative staff is another story. Be sure if you decide to re-enroll that you are 100% certain that you want to. If your child receives a dream opportunity that they believe will help prepare them for their future dreams they will charge you 10% of the tuition. I asked to speak to the finance committee and was told that they don't allow parents. I could only speak to one person in finance who is not authorized to make decisions. All he told me was "that's what is in the contract". It doesn't matter what the circumstances are. It wasn't about the money to us. It was about getting someone to speak with me who was authorized to make decisions. Someone who would listen and take into account why we decided to back out on our decision to re-enroll. Unfortunately that never happened. We learned our lesson the hard way. Be sure to read the fine print!

Politics and cliques in all the sports. The more money and connections you have the better chances you have to actually play a sport. They also sponsor foreigners that can get them the ranking they need, and give them free tuition.

I have been here since Pre-K four. The quality of teachers has decreased because the good teachers left since there was a lower salary. My close friend got SAd and the faculty didn't do anything. They left the school due to it causing their mental health to decrease. THIS is why this school isn't good. It doesn't care about its students and the faculty favors the popular kids.

My 2 daughters has been at Riviera since 2012. Riviera has been an amazing school since the very beginning. Having moved from Argentina, the teachers and faculty have always made them feel like family. It is an academically challenging school, but it also offers an array of activities to balance it all out. Children leave Riviera as well rounded students and people. The counselors are amazing and support students when they have a problem or concern. I would definitely recommend Riviera to families looking for an excellent education with a "home away from home" feel. Proud Bulldog mom!
My children have been at Riviera since PK3 and are now in high school. Choosing Riviera was the best decision I ever made. They not only treat everyone like family but it just feels like home. Every part of Riviera is run beautifully, from the administration, to the counseling department, the teachers, and the maintenance. I have never seen a facility so beautiful and well maintained. There are enough words to say how incredible Riviera is!

Our children have been at Riviera for over ten years now and are still as happy today as they were when they started in kindergarten. Though it is an academically driven school, through soccer, yearbook, honor societies, and clubs, our children have found the right balance for themselves. And to be honest, I don't know what we would all do without some of the amazing teachers, counselors, and office staff that are there for our kids every day in so many different ways. When my job asked me to relocate from New Jersey to Miami, my priority became researching and touring schools for my children. Riviera has proven to be the best decision I made with respect to my children's education. My 2 boys are thriving and loving the school environment. The teachers are great and the school truly is family-oriented. I travel all over the world and knowing that my children are in such safe and academically challenging environment, provides me with much needed peace of mind.

This is a great family oriented school with high academic requirements. Everyone knows everyone, and despite the rigorous curriculum, it is a very nurturing environment. We've been with Riviera (both the Day school and Prep school) for eight years and could not be more pleased.
