MCDS does an extraordinary job of discovering and nurturing students from even the very early years; the thoughtful balance of year groups and the truly global student body are a credit to the brilliant admissions team. The school's famous approach to classroom placement finds ways to bring students of different cultures, temperments, and interests together to build wonderful and surprising friendships while learning together. Exceptional arts extracurriculars complement the outstanding academics and solid sport offerings. The undisputed best PreK-12th in Miami - our child adores MCDS.

MCDS is a very creative school, and values each student’s strength’s . If your kid is into the arts I highly recommend it. Classes in general are always interesting. Although the school has a great counseling team bullying can be a problem mainly in high school. The school has a Learning Resource curriculum for kids with special needs although it’s not fully prepared for kids with mild disabilities that could participate in regular classes.

We are going into our 4th year at MCDS experiencing both the lower & middle school & it has been AMAZING!!! I do not have any complaints at all. Each of my 3 children have found their sweet spot at Country Day & feel very supported by their teachers. We could not ask for anything more

This is an excellent school that creates a wonderful learning environment for every student every day. The school has an outstanding faculty who brings joy and passion for learning along with a genuine love of their students. It's a wonderful learning environment!

I have 3 children in this school and my experience was always only positive. I think the strongest side of this school is the amazing teachers that MCDS manages to hire. They are always so positive and encouraging. True professionals. We came from nyc 5 years ago and my kids blossomed in this school. Teachers help kids become truly respectful and compassionate citizens of the world. I don’t know why it was said before that students at the school are spoiled, I disagree. You can find no good spoiled kids in any school if that what you are looking for. My experience was opposite - high schoolers in MCDS are extremely polite and will hold door for you. School does teach manners and respect for others. Academics are strong, my daughter was able to pass advanced talent search test based on the knowledge that she got at the school. Overall my kids are so lucky to attend this school. 10 out of 10

My son has attended MCD since middle school in 2016 and I’ve seen him develop into a respectful and confident young man. Values that I’ve seen taught and encouraged at the school. Academics are rigorous and prepare students to excel in college. Teachers across all curriculums are very approachable and encourage students to explore their own individual interests as well.I feel MCD has provided the groundwork for my son to have success in college and in whatever he chooses to pursue.

I went to this school from 4th grade till 7th grade. I had a horrible time during all of these years. The educational quality of the school is horrible, the kids who go there are pretty much all spoiled idiots, and the teachers have all have a huge ego. I can't speak for the high school department, but both the lower and middle schools are horrible. I would not recommend this school to anybody.

On the surface looks great, wish results were better with good but not great academics. Athletics need massive help particularly with baseball team coaches I've never seen so many negative interactions with kids playing baseball...they need a good positive coach who can bring the best out of the team. They do not have that currently.

It is no longer what it was... Because when we started 4 years ago it was great for 2 years we had experienced great teachers but as the kids grow from some reasons the teachers are becoming less in qulity. The leadership is a joke. Can't even call it leadership, as those people are the last anyone, would like to hang around with.

The teachers in math and science are inadequate and the students are even worse. The school worships the donors and their children and love sports more than anything else. They may say academics come first but in reality they're second. The Middle School was pretty great but once you get to Upper School I urge you to leave unless you're into sports, parties, drugs, and the "in crowd". Can't wait to get out of there, the only reason it's getting two stars is for the English department. Embedded honors is really annoying though that should change.

Sub-par quality of education, especially considering the insanely high tuition cost. Lots of drug use. Students are spoiled and bratty, and get away with murder because the administration will do anything to appease the parents, especially of wealthier students (DONORS).

the weak curriculum, the teacher who teaches geography to the 7 graders while playing the game "we are running away from zombies" (?!), another teach who says to my daughter that she "can relate to cannibalism because her family has properties in Indonesia and she spends her vacations here" (obviously that teacher learned her ways while running away from zombies too:)English teacher is so repetitive and keeps loosing herself into bla that kids are sleeping on her lessons (I personally almost fall asleep during her 15 min talk during teachers/parents meet up (I have no clue what she is smoking but I fell sorry for my daughter's seating in that class learning nothing).During the rain kids run from building to building with no protection and are getting wet/seating in wet clothes and shoes in classes. My daughter had PE right after the lunch and had to run 5 laps. The tennis couch is rude and hateful to students and parents. All this for 25+K a year. Does not worth it

The school needs to have new leadership. Remember the admissions office is really a sales office. The ACES lab is the best. Most of the teachers are great. However, it's about nodding heads and smiling. It looks good on the outside. However, do what you can do to assist the teachers to make their lives easier. Don't go to administrators for answers. Go to the teachers. They are your main line to help your child be the best they can be. Your teachers know your child. Not admin! Time will tell... parents are smart. Are you really getting what you are paying for? Academics or sports

I am so happy with the teachers. The school is safe for the kids. I do have my issues, but overall, the school is amazing.

We have been at MCDS three years, and my daughter has been the happiest girl there. She is challenged all the time by her teachers and peers, and students are happy with other kids achievements. Every single kid I have known at Country Day is so sure of him/herself, and that to me is half of the way in life. My daughter is in advanced math in Middle School, and I am amazed by everything she is learning. I say the same about the other subjects. Even though tuition is expensive, I don't feel it is a snob school, and like my daughter says, we are all the same in class. I strongly recommend it. I had heard many stories about how kids were treated differently because of their donations, and it is totally untrue. My daughter has been awarded many times and we have not given any big donation to the school.

My boys LOVE going to school every day. Elementary students attend Spanish or French (3x a week), P.E. (2x a week), music, art, ACES, swimming and media every week. We were initially attracted to MCDS because of its after school chess program and monthly chess tournaments. They also offer several other after school enrichment clubs. We ultimately chose MCDS for our children because of its philosophy to nourish the whole child. The teachers' qualifications are very impressive as well. Attending school on a pre-K to 12 campus offers many opportunities students at smaller schools don't have. Our boys look forward to attending MCDS until they graduate.

I love this school. I can't imagine my daughter being anywhere else. She is currently in 2nd grade and has been there since junior Kindergarten. This school brings out the very best in my child. They offer an environment where she can truly blossom. The lower school program is on the cutting edge of education. My daughter loves to learn. Miami Country Day is cultivating such a love for learning in her. The best part is the lower school director, Mrs. Jenny Knight. She knows every student by name. She is not just a paper pusher but she is really hands on with the kids. She really care about the students. The school also really added some nice enhancements to the curriculum this year. They added Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Happy Kids. So in love with this school. It's the best school ever!
