  We love bj smith! My daughter is in 2nd grade and has gone there sonce prek! We have loved all her teachers so far and mrs goss the principal is awsome! Only down side ive had is the guy PE teacher is definitely not people friendly and my child has complained about him a ton and has told me how he is in class and i definitely dont agree with how he runs things or how he treats the kids. ...More Reviews

  Excellent kindergarten teacher (Ms. York), very helpful staff in the office, involved and approachable principal (Ms Goss) and generally very good experience at BJ Smith. However, some minor improvements could be made as well to make this school great. Substitute teachers should be friendly and kind--that wasn't always the case. The pick-up/drop-off procedure could be better organized as well--there was sometimes no crossing guard, parents were sometimes impatient and rude, children were milling about. My other concern is that when children were in the gym before school started, there was no attempt to make it a productive or fun experience. Children were made to sit quietly on the floor in rows--no talking, no reading, no music, no nothing, but sitting. Rather than take kiddo to school early and wait in the gym so I could be to work on time, I elected to drop her off right before school started and was late to work everyday because I felt that strongly about making my kid sit on the floor in the gym doing nothing for 30 minutes. A few minor changes though, and BJ Smith would be excellent. Definitely a solid choice! ...More Reviews
