I am so disappointed I thought a school was to help the students achieve but not this school

Dobson is an outstanding school. The teachers and administrators truly care about the students and their families. I highly recommend Dobson High School.

I would give it zero stars if I could. I pulled my student from this school. One of the teachers allowed the students to watch a rated R movie with sex scenes in it without sending a permission slip home to be approved, when I discussed the situation to the office they told the teacher not to play the movie and nothing else that teacher started discussing it with the other students in the other classes my student wasn’t in and had many of my stunts peers threatening to be my student up because she got in trouble (if that’s what you want to call it) the rest of the year my student got dirty looks from the teacher and everytime we see that teacher outside of school she give nothing but dirty looks. Very childish and disrespectful. The principal Mrs. Buckley has no boundaries or respect. When my student was having problems with other student that used their vehicle as a weapon she did nothing about it said she couldn’t really tell on the camera and I was on the phone with my student and heard the vehicle rev up as it approached my student. Buckley had the nerve to tell my student to teach me boundaries and to not tell me what was going on at the school. This school does NOT like parents to be involved with what is going on, they like everything at arms length. I watched my student go from straight A’s to D’s and F’s and just try and push the student through the system instead of trying to help them, its like the teachers just don’t care. The amount of fights at this school is crazy and as soon as there is a fight it is all over social media. The amount of homework they give per class my student would be working on it till 11pm-12am that is to much, my student had no time to go to work or hang with friends and if my student did it put my student even further behind to work into the weekend.

My experience at the school was terrible, the office staff are rude.

0 the staff are rude and when you ask them questions they act like they do not no the answers or can not understand what you are asking them

The teachers have been really good. The staff in athletics department I would definitely question. The Administration has a hard time getting back with parents who need assistance. There athlete programs ( one in particular) is so disorganized! Not very good coaching in some sports.

Teachers care about the success of their students and go above and beyond at times to help. Ms. Brenda Griegio was very helpful and patient with our student while he completed his on line course. She worked with him on his schedule even when it did not correspond with hers. I attribute a lot of his ability to successfully complete this on line course to her! Great teacher.

The school administration and counselors are horrible. They want what is best or convenient to them not the students. Many students get punished over stupid reasons or for stuff they don't do. I have only had 2 or 3 teachers who have actually cared about their students instead of teach for tests and looks. Many teachers don't care about their students. The sports team is a big joke. Jackupson worst coach ever. The only thing good about the school is the technology and the band. Other than that I recommend another school.

Our daughter is a graduating Sophmore and has had nearly straight "A's" both years. She has not been late for school more than twice in 2 years and cries if she is sick and can't go to school. This is the same girl that was late over 80 days in 6th grade and often in junior high. She loves her teacher's and they make her want to be successful. I never have to bug her about her homework. Thank you Dobson teachers for giving my daughter the desire to learn.

Overall not a bad school, however Ms Polakoff is a terrible math teacher, she threatens the kids all the time, she is very unorganized and forgets to log in home work etc. My daughter hates math because of this teacher. somebody needs to do something about this teacher.

Many of my friends go to Dobson. Whenever I go to the football games I show my i.d. for the discount and when they see i'm from a different school I immediately got an attitude and was treated poorly as were my friends that go to Dobson. The staff is unbelievably rude. Even the security guards! The school does not seem very clean either, walking to the drinking fountain by the cafeteria I walked past more than 4 roaches and there was a huge spider by the drinking fountain. It was disgusting! I went to go home with my friend one day and I waited 3 MINUTES for their bell to ring and was talking to an old friend once it rang and about to leave, then the security guard knew I wasn't a student and threatened to have me arrested for being on campus, and got in my face and threatened me again! So rude.

My daughter is an A student in her second year, but the only real problems have been her math teachers. They both have been very disorganized. They lose her homework all the time. My daughter has to keep track of her homework when turned in because many times it isn't accounted for. The math teachers also don't teach. Both of the ones we have had it is time for them to call it quits for teaching. Some of my daughters friends have had the same problem.

This is my son's second year at Dobson and he has always been an A-B student. He has become very depressed at this school and his grades are slipping. I find that the teachers there are super overloaded and there are tons of discipline issues as well. The teachers are having a hard time keeping up with their loads and there seems to be lack of support from the top. The attendance staff is among the rudest I have ever dealt with which is absolutely unacceptable. I will say his counselor this year is great and helpful. Last year I would leave messages for both the counselor and vice principal and they literally would never call back. My son has never had a discipline problem, my calls were about classes and scholastic goals etc. The kind of calls parents should make. Something needs to happen quickly here as I believe both students and teachers are suffering which is damaging our children's learning. My son is in a class where some of the students literally harass the teacher and curse and speak loudly of drug use and abuse in front of the class. This also went on last year as well and it has not been addressed. This failure I believe is being ignored for need of funding. ;-(

After seeing the recent reviews, I'm glad to see it's not just my family having issues with Dobson. My daughter has always been a B-C student but this year (9th grade) her grades have slipped and she has come home frustrated saying the teacher don't teach the subject. I called several teachers and only received 1 call back and she was very rude on the phone because I was taking up her time. I tried calling the counselor several times, left messages, no call back. I called her asst principle and left several messages, no call back. Very frustrating.. I'll look for other options next year...

Dobson is horrible. This was my son's first year and the teachers are very rude and the principals seem to find ways to suspend or send home your kids. My son was sent home because he was 'not working' when he was sick at school. Crazy! We transferred to Chandler High and have had NO issues - I would recommend going there on open enrollment instead.. Dobson has serious issues and the 'new' principal doesn't seem to have a backbone to stop it.

I have been attending Dobson since my freshman year, I am a senior now. The reason I only get Dobson two stars is because most of their staff is rude, irresponsible, and immature. More than a few of my teachers would talk about being friends with students on social networking sites. There were many occasions where favoritism was shown. The front office staff is not only rude to me and other students, but to parents also. One of my former teachers was under investigation for inappropriate behavior towards a peer of mine. The reason I did give two stars is because Dobson has a great band, choir, and orchestra. I am on the Dobson yearbook committee and I personally loved the experience of being able to be a part of it. I met new people through yearbook, I went to plenty of athletic events, I learned more than most people at Dobson did.

Not a very good school. Teachers are very disorganized and the office staff seem to dig for reasons to send kids home and suspend them. I moved my kids to a charter school where they are now very successful.
