I transferred my daughter from Oakforest Elem. we both loved that school and both she and I dislike Kingsbury. I can say that her second grade teacher did teach her well and she struggles in math so he sent math homework for her to get practice. But the office staff needs to get a little practice at being warmhearted towards people who have real life situations that changes circumstances, I understand they must have some level of concern and they must do their job. Honestly do you have to threaten people with letters from the board and lawyers for people who have to move and have transportation problems. The board wouldn't even let her transfer to her school district so is that my problem. Have some compassion for other people I'm sure one time or another we all have had or will experience something that will stumble us.

My son transferred to this school from Altruria Elementary (a shelby county school that is rated 10 out of 10) I was extremely nervous about the transfer because of this schools low rating. We transferred him for the last 3 months of this year (2009-2010) and my son's attitude about school has improved immensely. His teacher is Ms. Hardy. She is a great teacher. My son hated school at Altruria and now he loves it at Kingsbury. He enjoys learning, his teacher keeps him interested and looks forward to going to school each day. I am very thankful I took a chance on this school. I cannot vouch for the middle or high school or even the higher elementary school grades but Kindergarten is great! hope this review helps!
