I feel that the teachers don’t want to help new teachers. The parents are just likely to complain about the teacher for not knowing what is expected for their students. I feel that the other teachers just look after each other and are not willing to help out when asked or tell the new teacher how things are done.

This school gave me so much trauma. Staff are only reasonable if your family is well know throughout the school. The whole school give pre-school vibes and it’s insanely small, the teachers are so rude and it has given me trauma, i had to switch online because of how bad the school trauma was. They claim that the school is god centered YET act the complete opposite of his teachings. This school needs to be shut down and the principal/ Ms Hess is really weird. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY AT ALL!

absolutely horrible school. gave me overwhelming anxiety and countless panic attacks. i ended up having to leave the school mid 7th grade because parents of other kids and teachers were harassing me over a dumb incident. teachers are way too strict and parents at the school don’t know how to act like adults. please don’t send your kids here, there’s other great schools in the area.

Meadville is sort of a weird case when it comes to public schools. I can't say I've been impressed with what I've seen the public system do with the kids of friends and family members. Teachers seem well paid and well qualified, but performance is generally very poor and support staff seems overwhelmed. Kids end up getting passed through even if they're a grade level or two behind. Fortunately, Seton was an option for us. Class sizes at Seton are much smaller and there is a real family vibe there. They seem to do a much better job giving kids the attention they need to succeed, with an emphasis not only on academics, but also on behavior and accountability. For a private school, it was priced reasonably well and scholarships/financial aid were generous. While it stinks feeling like I had to pay more on top of taxes to get my kids into a decent educational environment (rather than saving for retirement or college), I feel like it's been well worth it. If your work situation is fluid, I'd strongly recommend looking into moving somewhere else. For those that do not have that option, Seton seems like a no-brainer.

Seton is a GEM!!! G = God-centered; E= Excellent Academics; M= Meaningful Service to Others. What a great combination! Come to Seton and check out our GEM. You’ll be happy that you did! Open House for 2021-2022 - Thurs., 2/24/22, 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Both of our daughters attended Seton from K-8th grade. They enjoyed the friends that they have made and the memories they have made. My husband and I praise the school for being a strong advocate of the Catholic faith (prayers everyday, Mass once a week, Stations of the Cross, etc.); respect shown to each other; the academics that have prepared both of our daughters to excel in high school; and the commitment and love the teachers have for their students. It is a great place to be.

Outstanding. So blessed our children are students there. My children have excelled due to the excellence in education provided at Seton.

My daughter loves to go to school so that makes our life easy! Because Seton is faith based it teaches the kids to behave like a large family rather than a school. They go to mass together and the older ones help the younger ones. The kids and teachers all know each other very well so the whole school works as a team to make sure the students are successful. I can't say enough good things about Seton!

We have always been pleased with not only the teaching and academic curriculum at Seton, but also of the high expectations placed on students (A=93%+, a B=92%-84%. a C=83%) & individual attention students receive. Students are expected to behave & be respectful of each other, the classroom, & the property. They are expected to be personally responsible for their belongings & their homework. There is a greater sense of community at our school, particularly apparent in the Middle School, which is true Middle School model with grades 6-8. Middle school students perform numerous service projects which helps in their character development, & they also interact as mentors to younger students in the school. They are typically advanced to an accelerated curriculum. Seton provides intro to Spanish to all classrooms with Spanish I completed in 7-8th grade (accelerating Seton students for Spanish II in 9th grade). Students are encouraged to be active in both Physical Education classes & on the playground at recess. Seton supports the arts, with classes offered weekly, along with music lessons for grades 4-8. Overall Seton provides a great education and a wonderful school environment!

Contrary to the latest two reviews, the students of Seton Catholic School test not only above the local school district level, but also above average at the national level. You can see their national score percentiles on the Seton Catholic School website! I am beyond happy with the school and would rather have my children here than in the public school they are districted to go to, which performs in the bottom 15% of the state.

Seton is an amazing school for students, parents, and faculty. The children at Seton display a love of learning and serve their community in a way that is admirable. Everyday, I see God's hand at work in this school. I see teachers that develop and nurture relationships with students that last for years! Seton parents devote their time and energy on a daily basis to make this school so special. In all my years teaching, I have never been so proud to call a school my "home."

I have been part of the Seton Family for over 20 years and have found the teachers to be very involved with their students. My oldest child went to a prep. school and was very well prepared as will my youngest child when the time comes for him to attend High School. I am very thankful for Seton Catholic School and all those who help to make our school an "awesome" place.

Seton is a true gem. My older son graduated from Seton and went on to a prep school for high school. He was VERY well prepared for this transition. I was told by the administration at the prep school that "Seton students are always well prepared academically" for the transition. He is doing remarkably well and I have Seton to thank for that. My younger son has attended Seton since kindergarten and is thriving both academically and socially. We are grateful to have such a wonderful school.

Seton has made a huge difference in the lives of my children. We are thankful to the teachers and administration for their kindness, care and attention to academic growth. Meadville High School (as well as other high schools that our students attend) is an incredible indicator as to the quality of Seton students and their success rate. They are poised, confident and curriculum ready!
