If your child has any disability or illness do not expect these staff members to care at all! It’s been a train wreck trying to get these people onboard with my 5 year old who has been diagnosed with diabetes, we have gotten responses from teachers such as “I dont have to deal with this do I?” And “I’ll just cancel PE all together for this child because THIS IS ALL FOREIGN TO ME” granted my child is 5!!!! And this is the kind of care they show by acting as if caring for a child with a disability is a liability, but not caring for a child with a disability is WAY MORE of a liability. Idk who grants these people any professional license but they should be revoked. I had high hopes for this school as a local in my town, but it’s trash! Im in contact with all of the arizona education departments aswell as the American diabetes association, and we are going to hold this school accountable for discrimination. Beware parents. Also may I add we never received any apologies for the things that have been said.

Teachers there do not care. This school has the highest rate of children being held back. Maybe 4 days is not enough to cram everything in. 1 recess a day is not enough for children.

The principal and some of the teachers and staff are wonderful but, communication is very lacking. If your child needs help in any way it takes them forever to take any action and lend support. The school is very underfunded and they've had to cut programs out like art, and daily P.E. The special needs teachers are great but they are limited in what they can accomplish with your child. They don't praise individuality and have a very bad habit of trying to fit all students in the same neat little box, if they can't make them fit you will consistently hear about how your child is not performing like their peers and then take forever to lend any support to a child who needs any extra help. It's not the worst school I've seen, but they really need to make some major changes here.

The teachers and principal are extremely dedicated and focused on ensuring each child gets the assistance they need. I have been really impressed.

This school is amazing compared to Humboldt elementary.. the class sizes are small... individual attention... great play ground... my kids come home everyday off the bus with a smile on their face... with less homework :) and a 4 day school schedule...& maintaining straight A's... my kids are really enjoying this school, which makes me a happy parent.

Mayer is a very caring community of teachers that work hard to provide students with much more than academics. Students can feel safe and welcomed in this small k-8 school M.G.

This school works extremely hard at keeping programs that other schools have had to cut due to lack of budget such as P.E. and Music. The teachers are great and really care about the students. My child works with a wonderful speech therapist employed by the school who goes above and beyond her job description. Mayer is a small community where students can receive individual attention they deserve.

Mayer Elementary is a small rural school with dedicated teachers, staff, and principal. I would highly recommend the school to new families moving into the area.

I am a teacher who used to teach at Mayer. Mayer has the best kids and faculty around. The teachers are very dedicated and they have great leadership with Mrs. Leonard. If you are looking for schools in the area I would strongly recommend Mayer Elementary.... Go M Town!
