I graduated from mathis high school and it was pretty bad. The administration was terrible and did not care about us (the students) very much, they did little to nothing to prevent bullying, they cared more about the dress code then almost anything else. Almost all of the students here lose motivation because the teachers, administration, and staff don't care about them and some will even put students down. However, I did get enough help from the very few teachers and faculty members that did care to graduate.

I am a graduate from this Mathis, and enjoyed my experience. Although, now that I look back on how things were ran and how the turnover rate for teachers was ridiculous I can see why this school isn't doing well in state test scores or graduating students who don't go to college. The infatucture, administration has always been weak resulting in students who don't care. When I was here there was a big drug problem and as known by the locals the drug issues that the community has. Every school has it's bad apples but this school and the students seem to make it the norm for kids who are dealing drugs and overdosing. I would not recommend this school to someone who is relocating.
