All of my children have gone through the William Floyd School District. It is a wonderful school district that in my opinion goes over and above.

I've worked in this district for several years as a related services provider from on outside vendor. I was so impressed with the perfect combination of structure and care that the students received that I bought a home in the district. I've worked in many schools throughout my career and this district is truly a hidden gem.

School is exceptionally involved! Teachers willCall to compliment your child on his efforts or call if they are struggling. Very impressed with their going out of their way! Love that the highSchool also has an in house CTE program which we know as BOCES

A positive experience for both of my girls. I believe you get out of it what you put into it.

I graduated here in 2000 and went on to get my Master’s Degree from Hofstra University in English Education/Creative Writing. I also have 60 additional credits in educational credits from the University of San Diego through the Professional Development Institute. Needless to say, this school prepared me well. My older son attends here now and the curriculum is rigorous and the teachers are wonderful, compassionate and effective.

My son loves how diverse the school is, how there is someone for everyone, that everyone has their own personal style and it is respected by the other students. The music and sports program here is THE BEST! I also went to this school as a child and I had an amazing education. My class is still very close, 20 years later. I stay in this area for the school.

my fight is on going with the special ed department. they don't seem to care a bit for the not so high functioning special needs kids. They treat them like they are stupid. If the child is not learning from the program they have set up, its too bad. they don't care at wfhs special ed department.

Great school, great community. Graduation rates are up, recently voted a Top Workplace for 2018 by Newsday, Music Department inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, a great Career and Technical Education program, a STEM research program and so much more!

William floyd highschool has come a very long way in ten years they have jumped to an 86% graduation rate . That shows that the administration and the parents of the community are doing something right for the children.

My daughter was bullied by a student in the 9th grade. It was taken care of right away and it was never an issue again. In addition, my daughter had sever anxiety and needed to be home tutored for most of the 10th grade. The school was extremely supportive during this time and then invited her to enroll in Floyd Academy which was the perfect fit for her. She was on honor roll every quarter of the 11th gradea and is looking forward to graduating this year. There are many options at this school, you just have to reach out and ask for help. Some kids need help and it is there if you ask for it.

Super high taxes for nothing in return! My son is a good student, he tries hard, goes to class does own work, studies and makes the high honor roll every quarter. However non of this stops the fact that, that for the past three years he has been bullied non-stoo by the same three kids and nothing has been done! Countless, useless talks with both assistant principals and principals in both PACA and now the High School, still a blind eye. Apparently on their time my child is not a priority to protect. Yet I am expected to keep paying their salaries with my tax dollars and putting my child in their hand everyday. Not to mention this new level of indoctrination that seems to take place in the classroom. Apparently it is "Okay" for the Spanish teacher to spout politics on a daily basis. She rants about leaving the country, "not her president" and other such nonsence in a Spanish class for 9th graders. My political views are not Republican and I find this appauling! Her job is not is to be a political commentator.

My 3 children all graduated from the High School with High Honor Roll. Don't blame the school blame the parents. Teachers are not babysitters there to teach if don't control you children its not the teachers job. Get involved. Live here 28 years good and bad everywhere and I graduated Sachem High School no better there. Great Job William Floyd. Oh yeah 2700 students compare to the little schools Like Shoreham Wading River. Thanks Again

The William Floyd School district claims to have a zero tolerance policy toward fighting. My son has been terribly bullied at that school for a few years now. He has been beaten up four times. The only discipline that the bullies ever receive is a five day suspension. That is NOT zero tolerance. A genuine zero tolerance policy is....First one to throw a punch is expelled! Save the suspension for the name callers....kick out the ones who start fights and the fights would stop or at least they would not have repeat offenders. They claim to "have a system in place" The system is NOT WORKING. It needs to change.
