I graduated from MLHS with a Regent diploma and went on earn a Bachelor and Masters degree easily. Reflecting on my life it is easy to attribute much of my success to the standards implemented at ML. I am grateful to have parents wjo selected this over Grover Cleveland. The graduation rate for my class was near 100 percent if not 100. Our class went on to become successful members of society in military, federal and state service as well as lawyers and other professions including teaching. I spent 30 years on active duty and retired after attending this school. Had I attended GCHS I do not know if I could make the same boastnof accomplishments. It was a Christian based education with simple measures of accountability applied to students. Oddly, Jim Regan was there when i attended and is as fair and even keeled a person as ever. He is also in some wrestlimg HOF. For a micro school this is an accomplishment. People return to this school to work or donate time and effort because it is a spring board to being successful in life. Nothinh in NYC is cheap. Rent food gas and education is included in this circle. The school is small. Around 500 students. Staff student ratio is also small where children can learn and be taught in a much easier setting. This is excellent inner city education when the public options are bryant cleveland and maspeth and more institutions than learning centers. Consider ML for your kid for long term success. It worked for me and I am grateful my parents did.

First of all let me start by saying if you are a parent or teenager whom is considering going or putting their child into the school, has gotten a scholarship awarded by the school don’t go. The school is $10,000 a year without scholarships and financial aid. There are way better schools that will teach you more help you more and discipline you more than the school. this school is nothing but racist and sexist when it comes to discipline. The teachers are great and you learn a lot for the most part. I am a senior who had 4 months left in this school (i was in it since 9th grade) and i transferred. I’ve just realized that me being unhappy and always not in a good mood, was from this school. Since i started going to my new school i’ve been more happy, open and just everyone cares about you is so nice to you and the vibe is just great. Martin Luther is probably the worst lying school in history of private schools. There is no 1 on 1 learning, some classes have 5 students while the other class has 20-25 students in it. The lunch is way overpriced and the school makes you pay for everything extra including an extra mandatory $55 for the yearly “Walkathon” even if you choose not to participate. There is also a lot of Student to Adult friendliness which is very weird. There is a lot of sexual things happening in the school that they do not notice, and a lot of smoking and cheating.The school especially the Administration has a lot of favoritism. Anyone who “kisses their feet” and is a scholar or very good athlete will get treated way better than anyone else. This school has cost my family $35,000 that i can gladly said was waisted and has caused me nothing but stress, anxiety and mental abuse. Now i feel so free and so happy since i left the school. This school might as well be a public school and free because paying $10,000 is crazy. So if you a teenager or a parent reading this, the call is yours but i was a former student for three and a half years and i know everything and everyone. Good Luck!

I have to write about how proactive this school is. When there were rumors that they might close the public schools, we received an email informing us that the very next day was going to be a half day for the kids. From what I understand, Martin Luther was already thinking and planning what they were going to do. That afternoon they must of been getting all the teachers ready to teach online. They taught the kids how to log on to “Zoom” for online classes. The following week they announced that all public schools were closed. The kids at Martin Luther were all set to take online classes the first day of the closure of all public schools. Their education was not interrupted at all. All their teachers were online and help was offered to anyone that wanted extra help in a subject. Teachers were also available via email. I just wanted to say “Thank you” to everyone at Martin Luther School for an excellent job!

I only give the school 4 stars because it is just our first year but so far so good! My son couldn't wait to get out of our local public school (which was always considered a really good one) and the Catholic School in our area left much to be desired. Martin Luther seems to run a cohesive program filled with dedicated teachers, a fairly good workload, sports &extra curriculum activities. The class sizes are smaller which allows teachers to really give their students what they need. My son gets a decent amount of work each day but never seems to complain about doing it and his grades have gone up to a low A which we are pretty happy with. Interestingly, the school also has some international students which we really like. After all, the world has become very small and we live in one of the most diverse cities so great exposure. We had him take the TACHs test and he was accepted to Molloy, StFrancis Prep, etc.. but he is looking forward to completing HS at Martin Luther. Oh and by the way, all of the parents & students seem to really want to be there so no drama around uniforms, discipline, etc... We are really happy with our choice!

Disappointed! Read the April 27, 2014 NY Post report....scared? Is it fear? Don't know what to do?
