Having seen several of my children and relatives go through this school it has gone so far down since the new leadership. Communication from admin team is not existent of terrible, inconsistent discipline leaves the students confused as to what the rules are and the culture is that of one of violence with fights daily. There are some great teachers here and are the only reason the school is functioning, but those teachers will continue to leave if admin doesn’t change!

One of the worst schools you can go to, This school will crush your brain and social life. The fact is the school does not care about students' well-being.Teachers to AP to Subs, Teachers will pile work, stress, and unnecessary comments on you.If you’re lucky you would get really good teachers, they are probably the only thing keeping this school from becoming chaos. These teachers know who they are and actually enjoy their job without failing kids' dreams. Other than that this school is full of Racists,Homo/Transphobia,Sexism,Ableist and so much more, Mainly freshmen and sophomores lets be honest, They are still in “I wanna be cool and do stupid stuff” phase. Bullying will always be a problem but why can’t a student just live in peace? When they want something to stop, maybe you should help them, But No. Manvel doesn’t even think of that. They always want to start fights, threats, and be the most. The character and leadership will all depend on what kind of teacher you have, high chance you're not going to get the best one they are all leaving to get paid more and be treated like normal humans. And it’s true, teachers get bullied at this school too. The subs will break something, throw things, talk about unnecessary to even disgusting topics and the school will not care, they said they are hiring anyone who hasn’t done something that can put them into prison. Risking kids and teachers. Most teachers are treated with disrespect they don’t deserve and have things broken, stolen, and hidden by other teachers/AP(and subs). I witnessed this so many times and no one has said anything. I’m not even going to talk about the coaches. Reminds me of one that one spoiled rich kid in elementary school.I would like to thank some of the janitors and lunch ladies, and for the kind teachers that quit working at this school but this school is not meant for anyone and is just a toxic environment to ANYONE. No matter the race, religion,or gender there is something they will always pick at. The chicken nuggets are good tho.

Ever since the leadership change in 2019-2020, this school has become extremely toxic. New leaders are hostile to staff, creating a horrible working environment.Do not apply to work here or send your kid here, as you will see a huge turnover rate at the end of the year. Teachers are getting fed up with this terrible school.

Academics seem to be undervalued to sports. I have heard from fellow students about a drug trade going on. Every passing period you will see at least 3-5 couples kissing and exhibiting publicly inappropriate behavior. Many of the students live far away from the school and have to commute 20-30 from Shadow Creek Ranch or Southern Trails in Pearland. The PBL (Project-Based Learning) system in my science class discourages further learning and questions from students. In my 8th grade science class, my teacher, Mrs. Brian, taught us things that we would have to pay hundreds of dollars for to learn in college and performed some fascinating experiments for our class to hook us to the new topics. Now my science class is loud and is filled with more conversation than with learning (I, too, have done my share of goofing off). There is a lot of fighting going on and there is even a twitter account themed with fights in Manvel High School. The teachers are average, some great.

Manvel, in my opinion, is school! The diversity is amazing, and thats what most schools lack. Dress code is understanderble (any color polo , jeans or shorts.) They also provide lockers, this helps me when ever i have to much in my backpack. They have everything you'd want to do in after school activites, and they dont, they'll help you find whats similar to it without forcing you to something wouldnt like. 7:25am - 2:50pm, 53 minute classes. The school is just outstanding :)

As an involved student at Manvel I can tell you that Manvel is a fantastic place to go to school! Some of these other reviews make it out to seem worse than it actually is. I love Manvel! Extracurricular activities at Manvel are great, and sports are wonderful, especially football! As for academics, Manvel has some of the top Dual Credit, pre AP, and AP programs in the country due to great teachers within the advanced courses taught. There are a few knuckleheads, as there are in every school, but overall, the teacher and administrators keep things under control. I truly enjoy attending Manvel High School and believe it's about as good a school as it gets! HOKA HEY!!!
