DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. VERY BAD SCHOOL.

My oldest son has attended this school for almost 10 years and i must say i was extremely disappointed in the new teachers added to the school. In particularly one of the teachers gave out 3 dars to students without warning, call home, or parent notification. My son was one of these children and was given a dar for chewing gum to help him control his migraines. I was utterly disappointed in this teacher especially since she had been so kind and amazing until then. I will be notifying the principal and Musd about this if it is not resolved. Thank you

School and staff are not even competitive in thinking and adopting to needs. Focus and options does not exist

My daughter has been going here for 3 years. We find the teachers to be really good and the over all atmosphere of the school great. The number of kids in each class is a little high though.

I highly recommend this school for its exceptional environment fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The dedicated teachers contribute to the academic excellence, and the emphasis on sports adds another dimension to the overall development of students. A well-rounded educational experience awaits at this institution.

I have been attending Veritas Elementary for 9 years now (since Kindergarten, and I am now in 8th grade) and I have loved it here. I love how kind and supportive the staff and students are. The school is diverse and acknowledges all learning levels. Almost all the students at our school love it here. I would highly recommend this school, because the school, Veritas Elementary, is ranked the 2nd best school in Manteca. I am so happy I attended this school! One complaint I will establish is that the school is a bit crowded. But, along with other issues, this is being dealt with currently. This year, we have been given new desks, chairs, equipment, and even new classrooms! I can understand where some annoyed parents may be coming from, however, I assure you, Veritas is really a great school! And as a student who has been here most of my life, I know your child will be very happy here!

Most of the reviews on this site are old. My children started in Kindergarten at this school and they are now in 5th and 1st. The teachers care about their education and try to make learning interesting and fun. The office staff are great and the Principal really cares about the children at his school. The only complaint I have is that there are too many children for the school and too many kids in each classroom which makes it extremely difficult for the teachers and doesn't allow enough one on one for the kids. The kids could get a better and more effective education with less kids to teacher ratio in the classrooms. There are over 30 kids per teacher. The school district really needs to build more schools, maybe middle schools to alleviate the pressure of over population in the schools.

Staff at Veritas do nothing but stand around all day just so they can get paid. They don't care about the safety o the children and I know this because I once went here. It is not a great school. It is the absolute worst. Nile Garden is the best though. I would recomend Nile not Veritas.

If I could give this school zero stars I would. We had a horrible experience with the TK teacher and because of that decided to pay to send our son to private school instead. I get that teachers are under paid and over worked but for a TK teacher to have be so rude and have no empathy is just wrong! We have also had dealings with other school staff members not being very friendly.

Iam shocked to read all about the complaints. I as well had a bad experienced with the staff in the office. I met a lot of parents in school and they said the same problem . "The staff from the school office are very rude!". To all parents out there who had encountered the same problem/issue. File a complaint to the District or lets all meet and file a complaint as group.

Dee in the front office is exremely rude. Everyone cowers when she is around. I have even heard her yell at a teacher in the office in front of people. The yard duty seems mad all the time and they are also rude to the kids in the cafeteria during lunch. Not a good school in my opinion.

Just moved to Manteca from the bay area mid school year. I went to register my daughter and the ladies in the front office seemed like they did not want to be bothered by me. On her first day of school I was allowed to walk her to class so I could meet her teacher. She wasn't in the room. All of the kids were out playing and as we were standing there waiting a young girl fell and scraped her knee and was screaming. There were NO teachers around. She was probably screaming for a good 5 minutes until we just couldn't take it anymore and went over to help. She had a pretty good cut that was bleeding down her leg. We had to search the entire playground to find a yard duty teacher. Finally our teacher showed up. We asked about the process for after school pick up and she said its "supposed" to be a closed campus but the parents have been able to come through the gates, which really concerned me. I fear for my child's safety at this school with no teachers watching these children and anyone being let on to campus. My daughter has complained about being teased and no one helping her at lunch time. She got lost because no one told her where to sit and she ended up with the wrong class. I asked the teacher to help her out since she was having anxiety about this but she didn't even respond to me. Fast forward a few days, I come home from work and my little one is telling me how she got tackled and pushed by a boy. She had a gash in her hand and scrapes on her knees. NO ONE FROM THE SCHOOL CALLED ME TO TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED. I had to find out from her and then around 730 that night I get an email from teacher trying to explain the situation. That is unacceptable in my eyes. If my daughter is hurt I need to know about it ASAP. She's been complaining non stop about this school...she has anxiety about it and she is only 7!!!

Our experience thus far is that the teachers do not know how to teach common core and they should have learned it before it was ever implemented. Yelling at students is not ok EVER! Singling out students is not ok EVER! and yet this happens. There should be a PE teacher at the school, it should not be taught by the class teacher. Our experience thus far is that it seems the teachers are only their to collect a paycheck. They complain about the pay and run out the door as soon as the bell rings so they can go home. The children are not allowed to go in the class room before school to ask questions on work. If they ask in class they are told that is not what we are working on or they are singled out and embarrassed for asking. When we first enrolled here the office staff was very rude. After 6 months of being here or so it did improve quite a bit. If our experience with the teachers continues next year we may have to switch schools.

My child has gone to the school since kindergarten & my child has has mostly good teachers & 2 not so good teachers. There were a number of teachers who retired last year & the party line was either due to medical reasons or wanting to pursue personal agendas. I wonder if there were underlying reasons such as the implementation of new Common Core standards or another issue that was left unspoken. The teachers who were good were outstanding. As for the office staff, I tend to agree with the unfavorable comments, unfortunately. Although the service has improved tremendously over the last few years personal experience with them is they appear to "tolerate" me & have witnessed them on numerous occasions with "attitude" toward myself & other parents. However, I know others who do not have this experience. So, it's hard to say the root of the issue. I feel I have been nothing but nice to them and purposely do not make waves for many reasons not relevant to this review. The principal has always been helpful & kind. I personally have had no negative experience with her. My only improvement I would like to see from her is more focus on sport programs as it seems to be a very low priority.

I was checing around and saw this, I thought I was just having the review about the many things are dead on, we have been here since 2007 we have 2 childs left to graduate and even my ex husbands wife has had problems, (our children are 7 and 9 years apart in age), if the housing markets value were not so terable we would move back to San Jose, if we sale our house we would lost money. Go in with eyes wide open.

Please do not attend this school for the sake of your kids. My child was bullied there and then we the parents were accused of it being our fault. Um... excuse me? My child literally has a bruise that looked like knuckles on his leg. Thank god he is not traumatized by this too much and we got out of this school. And the office staff is horrible but I'm sure they are great to about 10% of people right?

I am very happy I found this site and see many issues and complaints as I do. As a mother of 3, 1 is in the 8th grade and my other son is in high school), we were excited to buy a beautiful two story home, (the area we lived in prior was too expensive for a similar plan), directly across the street from a park and a few minute walk from the school. I have never had a negative experience until my son began Veritas. There is nothing for the students to do, limited volunteer opportunities and when I have signed up I was not needed yet at some events, many looked frazzled. The many parents I have spoken to say exactly what the review before mine have, it seems the only positive comments come from PTA members with a title and those close to them. Our son has never asked to stay home from school, this year he constantly begs to stay home. He cries over bullies, other kids being bullied and from what I see., many kids and parents have the "my s$#t don't stink"attitude. We will be moving to our hometown at the end of the school year and enrolling our son at a great school, he was happy and excited when we told him about moving, it is so sad many good families will not be back next year.

Don't believe the propaganda reviews. PTA may be better, now, but the school itself is on a slippery slope. The classrooms are large, teachers (except for a couple) are not very good, and the principle is by far the worst I've come into contact with. My children, like others who've commented, hate coming here; this year will be their last. If your child loves school, and you bring them here, they will soon want to just stay home. I'm not sure of their agenda, but as I've talked to many parents, their children feel the same. It's not a warm and inviting place, very cold, heartless, and disturbing.
