My daughter has attended both elementary school and middle school at Manheim Central. The elementary school is just a couple years old and is very nice. They have a full gym and a cafeteria that doubles as an assembly area with a full stage. This assembly area is equipped with a near theater grade A/V system. Individual classes have the latest A/V projection systems. I have been happy with all my daughters teachers there.Subject specific teaching starts in 5th grade at the middle school. These days many school districts have had to eliminate many of the extras like music, band, and art. That is not the case here. They have choir, art, and band electives. They even have a technology and robotics lab. Every child gets their own laptop. The middle school has a very nice auditorium that many high schools would love to have. My daughter at least has not had any problems with bullying, so I can't really comment on that.

I find the reviews I have read to be shocking. This has NOT been our experience. I am Caucasian. My 2 daughters are Chinese by birth, American by citizenship through adoption. Bullying has not been a major problem for us. My younger child had an issue with a special needs child who was showing her unwanted attention and affection on the bus. The school guidance office notified me and acted swiftly once it was brought to their attention. They used tact yet acknowledged my daughter's discomfort and right to have help with the situation. Neither of my children had difficulty finding their friend groups. I think it is very common for adolescents to feel insecure as they are maturing into young adults. So not to dismiss the experience of actual students, but to judge a school districts by one students insecurities hardly seems fair. Manheim Central is no doubt a farming community, and definitely not the most affluent school district in Lancaster County, but that very element made my children feel more at home and I dare say more welcome than I ever felt in Hempfield. The Christian influence in many of the families of students, as well as faculty, is very evident! This could be a pro or a con depending on your viewpoint., but at the very least promotes building character, integrity, and a hard work ethic. Manheim Central School District is passionate about its students. Both of my daughters have forged close friendships with their teachers, who have helped support them in the areas that they struggled. When COVID put a damper on graduation, they made every effort to make the experience special for seniors. Each senior student's photo was posted on a phone pole throughout the borough. My older daughter got a Presidential Scholarship at Elizabethtown College and is succeeding there! We love Manheim Central!!! We appreciate Manheim Central! No they are not perfect, but I feel they do a fine job of educating our students! I am sorry for anyone who has attended and not had the same experience!

Kinda bad ngl. A lot of the people there are rude and the teachers don’t do anything about bullying

Manheim is a peaceful, quaint town and has friendly people, although the staff and teachers of the middle school are inattentive and careless which reflect badly on student's performance and behavior. Teachers need to show enthusiasm and interact more with students. Teaching should be about devoting time to nurture and develop young minds.
