I have low stars of this school is because I fill the teacher does not really help me on helping my kids academically. My kids are happy which is good. But, I do not know what they have learned and what are their weakness. If I don't know that, how do I help them. I understand that test score is not everything, but it might be important to someone. I still believe test scores are important otherwise why is it still exist?? Teachers of my kids are very nice, but does not help me or understand the way to help my kids to improve on English and Math in particular. I strongly believe that English and Math are the fundamental. You need English to read and learn other things and math to help you have a better finance aspect in your life. I have been contacting school teachers on helping my kids on national standard tests and very few help are provided. I can easily google search those helps myself. The school is good, but I would highly appreciated that they can focus more academically (English and Math).

It is quite frankly the finest school in the Madison school district. It is a school that is student-centered and full of passionate educators. Our family has had at least one child here for close to ten years. Our kids have an appreciation of diversity, a commitment to social justice, and excel in competition with students in middle and high schools. Disregard the numbers. They don’t tell the story of this school.

Lincoln is an incredible place. Here's what I mean:Once I was in the office and a teacher came in to talk to a student who did NOT want to go to music class. Seriously did NOT want go. I'm watching the exchange between the teacher and student when a secretary in the office picked up the phone, dialed the student's home, and handed the phone to the teacher. "I called the mom for you."I froze. What I expected, after the student left, was a confrontation between colleagues. "Why did you do that?!! I was taking care of things!!", etc...But of course, that is not what happened. Instead, the teacher said "Thank you for the support. I needed that."I tell this story because it sums up the kind of place Lincoln is. A place where every adult is focused on the support, safety, and success of everyone: kids and adults alike.

The teachers and administrators at Lincoln were outstanding and our kids -- now in high school -- got an incredible education here. Among my several friends and acquaintances who substitute around the city, all say that there is no elementary school at which the student community is more respectful, accepting, or ready to learn.
