Lacks effective and caring administration leadership. Good teaching staff , but has gone stagnant in the last couple of years.

This is the worst school I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to attend, the school system overall is terrible and the teachers are also terrible. I attended this school for four consecutive years from the third grade to the sixth grade in the "advanced" program and found that the teachers knew very little of how to teach effectively. Thankfully, I moved out the county, to Wakulla which has a school system far superior to most and actually challenges their students to go the extra mile. I am currently a senior at Wakulla High School and have a 3.98 GPA, no thanks to Madison County Central School.

When we first moved to this community, I had high hopes that my kids would receive the help and teaching they needed, deserved, but weren't getting at the schools in the district where we had lived previously. And they absolutely did. Within just a few months my older child had the IEP he had been denied in that other district, and was finally receiving the help he needed. Both of my children were excelling in their new environment. The next year, Dr Miles took over, and things changed a great deal. I was a frequent volunteer and suddenly I wasn't allowed to volunteer in my children's classes any longer. I was made to feel extremely unwelcome whenever I went in and once was even told to LEAVE rather forcefully by Dr Miles, when all I was trying to do was pick up one of my kids. He went out of his way to alienate parent volunteers and has made many of the better teachers quit simply because of the way he treated them. My children went from loving school to begging to be homeschooled on almost a daily basis. While this was a good school that was on the rise, under this dictator's rule, it is swiftly going downhill!

This is a great school that is on the rise. It is a PreK through 8th Grade school that serves the educational needs of many.
