Alpha is in a low income area, and the school staff is very welcoming.

School is terrible. We have asked multiple times about a certain student who has been harassing my child for the past months. I have spoken to the teacher and principal. The teacher was horrible, didn't do anything, and made my child apologize because the kid sucked up to the teacher. The principal did nothing and the kid still harassed them from time to time. They are terrible to help kids who are not seen. They overlook the kids and don't care about them unless it's their behavior towards the teacher. I don't recommend this school to any parent as they have mistreated multiple cases of bullying and honestly don't care for the student's mental health at the school. They promote that they will take care of any bullying yet have not done a single job to actually do something about it. They overlook my child's skills and my child's mental health and honestly make them not feel happy to go to school.

I'm strongly considering another school for academic and wholesome environment.

This school is academically behind the state. My family recently moved to Madera and I have two children that attend Alpha. The school presented work that my children had completed 1-2 years ago from their previous school. I addressed my concerns with their teachers, but was told that the school caters to the majority of the students. The school is largely hispanic. I would like to send my children to another school, but after doing my research it seems that all Madera schools are one in the same...academically challenged!!! If you're not part of the school's population majority, you might as well get used to being overlooked.

This summer we moved to Madera, and Alpha was the school that our area belonged to. I was not to impress with the personal at the front desk, but I thought I will give it a try. I'm a mom of 3 children, my oldest is in Law School, my middle one is in his first year of College, and my 10 year old obviously the one coming aboard to Alpha. I had ALWAYS made it very clear to my children, that I WILL ALWAYS back School and Teachers up. They MUST have a valid reason to come to me with a complaint about a teacher or School personel.... (I must say that I always kept a great communication with teachers and principals even in High School) My point is that isn't my first child, I don't panic for nothing. The second week my son went to Alpha got badly hurt. He wanted no make friends since he was new there. He approached a group of kids and asked them if he could play....(i guess they were playing with marbles) one of the kids out of the blue grabbed him from his ankle and (caught him off guard) he would've hurt his face badly, but managed to put his left arm in front but flipped the wrong side. My husband gets a call from school saying "you kid got hurt, you need to pick him up" THAT WAS IT. Nobody knew what happen..... at that point we took him to the ER doctor's weren't sure if cast would it the way to go or surgery.... Next day I go to school to speak with the Principal. I couldn't believe that he was not aware of it, and the way he responded..... Basically his answer was .... "Of curse we would be giving the attention if we felt he was seriously hurt"My son might need to have surgery, and that is not serious enough ?Made me sick the attitude of every one there. I just couldn't continue have him be part of that. I pulled him out of that School.
