At Beck, I've encountered some wonderful teachers who are dedicated to their students' learning and well-being. However, my interaction with the principal Mrs. Wilson left me disappointed. I approached the her with a concern, but unfortunately, my issue was dismissed without proper consideration. I hope that the she can work on improving communication and addressing concerns more effectively in the future.

Top notch school! My son was in accelerated math and has now been accepted into Utica academy for international studies.

I really don't see why a parent would dislike (or even hate!!!) the Principal at Beck. Yes, indeed... the school did have a problem with the parking lot before Mrs. Wilson stepped in. Once she took over, she fixed it. As a parent, I would drop my child off each morning and she would be right there, outside, with the students and other teachers, always looking for clues, what else can be done, how can the problem be fixed. I could see how things worked better by each passing month. And, when she saw there was one thing that won't go away, she sent a note quite a few times to parents / guardians, they still won't cooperate so, for the safety of the kids, Mrs. Wilson was not shy at all to even get a police car in front of the school a few days in a row until people finally complied. I never told her this, but as a parent, I could clearly see the genuine efforts she put in from Day 1 just to make it all better. And if the unhappy "community member" who posted the comment in May is the previous Principal of this school, well... just to begin with, as a parent, I never saw YOU outside, in those cold mornings, with your staff, doing YOUR job. Guess what! Mrs. Wilson never missed one morning until she fixed the problem! While you kept yourself warm...she kept our children safe! Take that from a happy parent -- if you can.

Not a good school at all. The principal is rude and she's someone you don't want to meet when you have a problem there. She has some parents as "friends" and they're the ones that write the positive comments about her. From all the parents I know 9/10 dislike or even hate her. The parking lot is horrible to say the least. Avoid this school if you can.

My son has been in kindergarten here and now is in first grade. I would say the selection of teachers is average like any school. Some good, some very impatient with young children. I don't like the fact that the young kids are involved in no performance or play type thing throughout the year. Not for the holidays or anything. Most of my 13 nieces and nephew's have nice things going on in there school for families to come and watch, especially during the holidays, but not this school. I also notice a high population of women who clearly do not have the right patience and attitude to be working with young children.
