My experiences with the school have been great. My daughter always praises her teacher and looks forward to going. With the difficulties of Covid this year, they have exceeded my expectations with how prepared they were to offer online content.

I really don't understand why Lincoln has such poor reviews. Maybe a lot has changed since my daughters have started 3 years ago. Overall we have been nothing but pleased. They have a wonderful art and music program as well as computer class, a brand new gym for pe, and library day . They have a lot of kids that go here but the staff go above and beyond with making connections with the kiddos and remembering their names. My oldest daughter is ahead of a lot of kids her age and her teachers have made a point to individualize her reading and math assignments so she doesn't get bored. The only problems we've had were solved by asking for a sit down meeting. The teacher, principal, social worker, and assistant principal all attended and we felt like they genuinely cared and soon after the problem was resolved. They also host a lot of fun free activities for families and the kids.

Our experience with this school has been completely terrible. They seem to try, but always fall short. They have no follow through on anything. Our son is ADHD and bipolar and has an IEP. They have not followed my son's IEP the way it was discussed, they have made promises they didn't keep, and have even went so far as to blame our parenting for the troubles my son has had. They constantly blame their short comings on lack of funding and have refused to transfer my son to the program for children with emotional/behavior disorders in Rushville. I feel like there is so much more they could do. I feel that my son is not getting quality education because he does not fit their idea of a "model student".

The staff is obviously very committed to the welfare of the students. We appreciated their attempts to help us when we visited earlier this week.

Im having trouble finding one good review. My now kindergartener is some what adjusting however with a no parent policy it makes it difficult to feel content my child is doing well. And no communication between children and their parents makes me suspicious and weary.children are not allowed to phone their parent which is not listed in any school handbook I've gone over.the faculty is very rude. i dont understand such disrespect towards a concerned parent.

There is no possible way this school could receive such a high score. My son attended for two years until I fortunately found a way to transfer him to a different school district and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made for him. He used to hate going to school every day, feared his teachers, feared testing, and seemed to always be criticized or bullied by others in his class. My son is very bright and enjoys being artistic. His teachers never spent the time to ensure he was learning and rushed everyone through their objectives. His new school has been a Godsend. He now enjoys being in school, is making new friends, and even aced his first spelling test, without any fear. If you can, do your very best to avoid Lincoln Elementary in Macomb, IL.

This school shows up as an 8/10 rating for me prior to my review. From this number, this site has lost some credibility for me. I'd give it a 3/10 from the perspective of a parent who is highly involved in her child's education. And before I got any further I'll say that it is not entirely the fault of the school- it is the population of the area. The teachers seem nice and have great intentions, but they just can't handle the card they have been dealt. Many children are way way WAY behind and have terrible behaviour and come to school with very little sleep. 1/3 of my daugthers classes were this way. This of course takes all of the teachers time and there is very little time for actual instruction. But if you have one of those neglected, exhausted children, I'm sure the school would be good for you because the teachers do try. Also I'll throw in a note about the curriculum being way too easy and also there are some quite nasty and strict recess and lunch time rules (like jonny accidentally dropped a wrapper under his seat so as punishment none of his class gets to have recess-- humiliating johnny).

I recently left Macomb and it was in part because of the poor school system, particularly one teacher that wanted to bully my child. Overall, the years before that were great but this year was a very hard one for my child. I was very happy that I had a reason to leave the area because the damage that is being done to the children in that class is pretty bad. The teach was even using other students to bully certain children in the classroom. I found my child crying in the bathtub at night because she was afraid the teacher would get mad because the days reading didn't get finished. That is insane at eight years old, I understand preparing them for Middle School but it should not result in the child fearing returning to school, which is what I'm currently going through.

The faculty and staff are very caring and work well with children from all walks of life. The teachers frequently go above and beyond to ensure the success of all students. The office staff is very welcoming. It is one of the friendliest schools my children have attended!

We are moving from the area and one of the main reasons is because of the poor school system. The children are unruly and bully often. The teachers seem to care little about a solution to the problem. A child was told as he was having an asthma attack at lunch to "Go sit down and wait till lunch is over. Then go to the nurses." Another teacher had to be found to get the child the help they needed. The teachers will literally refuse to teach until the class calms themselves and this results in no art or music classes due to the children's lack of behavioral skills. I refuse to raise my child in this atmosphere and as a professional couple are glad we have the resources to move to a better environment If your children HAVE to go to school here...choose private.

I attended Lincoln Elementary as have my children. The teachers and staff are so caring and supportive not only to their students, but with the parents as well.
