Lytle Elementary is an amazing campus with amazing teachers. Both of my children who have gone through the this campus have flourished. The teachers not only ensure our children are growing academically, but they also focus on their social emotional well being. Both of my children have moved on into Jr. High and High School and I am thankful for all the real world learning, leadership opportunities, and opportunities for us parents to volunteer and have a front row seat in watching our children grow. I am forever thankful to all the elementary teachers and staff for preparing my children for Jr. High and High School learning. They are soaring!

I have been teaching in the Lytle School District for 5 years and I absolutely love it! The admin staff makes us feel valued and listens to our concerns. We are given the tools we need to make sure our students succeed. I love that we follow the Capturing Kids Hearts model because it shows that our school is not just about test scores, but about making our kids feel loved and cared for each and every day. We start each day greeting our kids both outside the school and at the classroom door. Then we let the students share "Good things" with the class daily. We keep a positive environment throughout the day so the kids know we genuinely care about them. We end each day with a launch to let our kids leave on a positive note. I have never seen a campus that cares more about their students than Lytle ISD does. I absolutely love working at this school and having my own kids attend this school. It's a great place to be!

My daughter went 2nd-5th at Lytle Elementary and I always felt that she was safe and cared for. The security has always been one-step ahead of what the rest of the schools in our area are doing. The teachers were always approachable and every single one made her feel special. Academics are important at Lytle Elementary but, as I support, the school cares about the well-being of the child the most. Relationship-building is fantastic at Lytle Elementary.

This school is truly unique. They don’t push test scores. Instead, they use real world experiences and student-led projects to teach students valuable lessons, both academic and for opportunities outside the classroom. The learning environment is like no other, and the teachers truly care for their students. It’s like one big family.

I have two children that attend Lytle schools, one in high school and one on the elementary campus. The public must know that the Special Education staff are amazing. My child has been included into the general education classrooms and has made tremendous gains. This school believes in doing what is right for our kids not what is best for the state test. I appreciate the time the teachers take to email me about my child's progress and how their day went. Very happy environment seems the staff likes to be there. My kids love the teachers.

Happy with the teachers and the education my child is getting at the elementary. It is definitely a progressive school. I wouldn't be disappointed with less test prep though. And communication could be better. At the Primary my child's teacher kept us better informed.

All 4 of my children have gone to the elementary. The teachers are amazing and love my kids like their own. They are pushed to their fullest potential. They are high students and I have always felt like they were met where they are and taken further. I have read the previous reviews and wish parents would understand you get out of something what you put in it! If you stay an active part of your child's day (yes I'm a working mom) and keep constant communication with your child's teacher, you will have a very different opinion! Now that teachers are on Facebook it has never been so easy! I do wish all teachers would use it more, but that will come. If you want a school for your kids where they are truly loved and where they will receive an excellent education, then bring your kids here!

Don't take your kids to school at lytle elementary!!! I'm sure the teachers do care about the students however, the kids are not learning anything. I had to move my kids to a different school, in lytle they were straight A students or should I say straight 3s....the first semester they struggled, the review they were given was never taught in lytle. The were having to play the catch up game on things they were never taught in lytle. Example: my oldest son had just learned his multiplication tables in the 4th grade in lytle before transferring. In their new school my youngest who is now in 3rd is learning his multiplication tables. Lytle isa whole year behind. Plus with their new method of teaching the kids are falling more behind. They have the students teaching other students. It's basically the blind leading the blind. If you want a good education for your child stay away from here!!!

Lytle School is a family run school. The students are respected and loved but the education needs are not met. Children with any type of learning issues are not addressed, just pushed along. The class sizes are 21+ per class. They have moved to Standard Base Grading System saying it will help the children. This grading system has not helped our child, it has hurt their motivation. And once again it has hidden the students with learning issues.

The school's website does not have the best site to post what parents, especially new students and parents, need or dates to enroll my child. It is very hard to scroll through to find information.

If you have any goodwill towards your children whatsoever and have a choice in whether to send them to Lytle elementary, please don't. Your child will be immersed in a classroom full of kids who don't care, presumably due to the rampant poverty in this small town. There is only so much a teacher can do, and inevitably the curriculum follows the median intelligence of the class, which here is certainly below average. Your child will be robbed of education at a time when it it so crucial to their future development. If you want to stifle your children, send them to Lytle ISD. Otherwise, if you want your child to grow up with curiousity and hope, you'll need to surround them with other curious, hopeful children. Genes only go so far; they need a positive environment, and they won't have that at Lytle ISD.
