My 4th grade son in his fourth year out Soundview and we couldn't be happier with his placement. We have had many unusual circumstances outside of school during our time at Soundview and the staff has gone above and beyond to support my son. He feels safe, loved, respected and nurtured. The social-emotional support my son has received has far exceeded my hopes and expectations. My first son went to our local public school and the differences are striking, making me wish I could turn back time and send him to Soundview instead of our local school. My son almost never frets or worries about schoolwork or challenges because he knows that whatever he does will be accepted and supported and that he can always ask for and receive loving help. I would not hesitate to recommend Soundview school to anyone who is looking for a place for their child to feel a sense of belonging and community.

I have a thriving 5th grader at Soundview who: gets excited about his schoolwork; reaches out to teachers proactively for help understanding assignment goals/grading rubrics; self-advocates for support at school and at home; prides himself on his conflict resolution and leadership skills; considers himself a writer, artist, math geek and history buff who also loves geography; and feels 100% supported by his classmates and teachers. If you are the type of parent who is willing to trust the IB curriculum, staff, and parent community to create an environment where your kids will learn how to fuel their own passion/curiosity and feel empowered to overcome the many setbacks of an imperfect world, then this is your place.

We have two students enrolled in Soundview's Middle Years Program who are happy, engaged learners. Our family has been so impressed with the IB curriculum, which is designed to build critical thinking skills by focusing on ten foundational learning traits, and all of the faculty, who are all very knowledgeable, very skilled educators. Assignments and assessments are often project-based and interdisciplinary, which gives the students opportunities to think about the content in an applied manner. We also love the safe, welcoming community Soundview offers, which has been particularly important for middle-school's social-emotional challenges. One example of this is Soundview's Skills Collaborative program, which provides individualized support for students with learning differences. It is such a valuable, unique asset for neurodiverse learners.

My daughter is in fifth grade and has been at Soundview since Kindergarten. There has not been a single day that she is not excited to go to school and I think that's really amazing! Soundview is very welcoming and inclusive and my daughter feels so valued as a member of the community. We love their emphasis on inquiry and how they encourage the students to ask lots of questions and to engage with their learning in unique ways. My daughter has learned so much socially and emotionally, too. Soundview really educates students as whole people. I love that I can reach out to staff or teachers and get a quick reply and that there are so many opportunities for parent engagement (without it being a requirement!). Soundview also has an incredible music program. Highly recommend!

We selected Soundview based on it being one of the few non-religious private schools in our area. We've been pleased with the level of family involvement and sense of community there. Educationally it seems about equally challenging to public school, but with a much higher educator-to-student ratio.

Last fall was our daughters first year in school, and we all are so happy with our choice of attending Soundview School. I wanted my girl to be around kindness and fun. Soundview was that plus somewhere she learned to think new thoughts and build confidence. I am so impressed with my daughter’s growth. We are excited for this coming fall! This school also offers an incredible amount of community connection opportunities and that has been amazing. Especially as a first time mom. Everyone is so welcoming.

We have 2 kids at this school in elementary level and love it. We get a lot of communication from teachers (including the specialists like the music and Spanish teachers). The administrators here are also very engaged with parents and the community. Most importantly, the teachers are happy and very good with students. My kids are substantively challenged and are encouraged to be leaders and ask questions.

I have three kids at Soundview and we love it. One of my kids was on an IEP and Soundview was able to help us find support through the public school system. Through COVID, I was so grateful to have the Soundview community. The administration learned quickly about COVID recommendations and made the school a safe place to attend and learn (all while juggling virtual school). I would recommend this school to anyone with school-age kids.

Soundview has been a godsend for my family. Our children are thriving here in both the PYP and MYP programs. Because of the academic rigor of IB programs, I know their education is on track and supersedes that of most schools. It's the community component of the school that truly sets Soundview apart. From the very first time we stepped foot on campus, students welcomed us from a variety of grades with openness and warmth that is fully attributed to the faculty and staff. The parent involvement is as much or as little as you want it to be. They kick off the year with Dolphin Day - a day to meet your teacher and explore your school. They also do an event called Booling (bowling in costumes) around Halloween that is a community favorite. The students are so engaged at Soundview, both in their learning and in their friendships and community. Faculty and staff filter every decision and interaction through the lens of ethical, rigorous, and compassionate intentionality. This is so very evident when you speak with them and really hear how they formulate everything from the curriculum to the recess rodeo (an event that includes teaching students how to treat the neighbors surrounding the playground with respect) to the problem solving that happens on a daily basis. Instead of reacting and retaliating to situations that come up, they invite students in to seek solutions to problems that may arise. Our kids have been to a variety of schools over the years. Soundview is far, far and above anything we've ever seen before. We truly feel lucky to have found this little gem in Lynnwood.

We have 3 children at Soundview and we've loved our experience there. The rigorous IB curriculum, the ample time to play outdoors, and the fact that our children are known and loved keep us coming back year after year.

I have a child in the Early Childhood program at Soundview and every day I am blown away by what they do in that classroom – from free expression and creativity to daily journaling with their own drawings and thoughts to guided exploration of specific topics, and more. I think what stands out most, though, is the genuine value placed on the kids and their ideas. I know this is true from the class discussions my son talks about, the kids’ thoughts quoted on the boards throughout the classroom, and the interactions I witness between the teachers and the kids. I cannot imagine a better place for my son to express himself while learning cooperation, empathy, and the academics necessary for kindergarten-readiness.

We have been at Soundview for several years. The education has been excellent for our children. The teachers and administration care about the students and provide them an environment that encourages individual thinking with respect for other perspectives. We have two children with very different needs. Soundview has always been able to take their individuality and provide them the best possible opportunities to learn. My children love going to their school, and I love that we can provide them an environment where they love to learn.

We have 2 children at Soundview and feel it is a very safe environment. They both thrive at the school and look forward to school each day. We trust each and every staff member to deliver the education that will help mold them into leaders of their community.

I was really excited to have my child in this school, from the tour and the visits we couldn't have been happier. Sadly we were disappointed. The teaching is below average. The way the teachers teach is ineffective and dated. They tout using positive discipline but yell regularly. The tuition is a lot and consistently on the rise and for the families lucky enough to be their on scholarship, well it feels like they should just sit back and be grateful for what they get. Our child is going to be attending public school next year, and is not educationally ready, and by the way the teachers teach, I doubt the rest of the class will be ready either. This school does not foster creativity, it attempts to mold it. If you want to spend a lot of money to send your child to a school where they bring home lots of cute projects for the refrigerator then maybe this is the school for you.

I used to love this school. I was, and still am, amazed by the music and art programs. The teachers that I've had direct contact with are amazing but the academics are average. And unfortunately over the years it's gotten a bit lost with its heart. The financial aid program has suffered, so now there is a distinct feel of "haves" and "those lucky to hang out with the haves." Rather off-putting and sad. I think they could get their passion back but it will take work. I'm not willing to stick around to see if it does though.
