As a teacher i tried my hardest to help all students but repeatedly ran into trouble with helping struggling students. Administration did nothing to aid in creating a better learning environment for struggling students. Administration is obsessed with what race students are in every statistic it is all about “well why is this race not succeeding?” Overall i would say pick any other school you could over L. Gilbert Carrol

im a student there, let me tell you, most the kids aren't the problems, the teachers are. 1 kid in my class, deliquent and attacked me multiple times, one of the times because i was correcting him on a game, and the other me hapily joking about how he was crawling with no intentions to insult him even using a sarcastic voice and he called me a ahole, and i only know what that means because one of the others told me. the teacher yells at us for tiny mistakes and "nice" one tries anything to embaress us even calling me out for "sleeping" when i was really just trying to get to a position where i could be comfortable and see, and he wouldn't let me explain. i hear teachers do worse things for less. the food looks like poison with one looking like the grease of gravy with chopped carrots?! the only reason students are dumb is because the teachers dont help us get it in our head and use stupid things to. one of my friends got a's and b's on his test in his old school, and it wasn't a long time ago, and now, he gets d's and f's and i never see or hear him act up, cut up, or mess around. i want out and im glad i'll be going to an online school.

Some of you might have a good experience at L Gilbert Carroll Middle. But my child has had the worst experience ever. With the Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Principle, and Vice Principle. They are not good for the children and they are not good at their jobs. They do not care about the student s, they only care about themselves. What kind of a person is going to tell a child if someone does something to you to come and tell me. Then when the child does come and tell you, they don t believe you. And what kind of person will tell a child that another student is nothing but a liar and they don t believe anything that they say. You have a student with 3 not 1 but 3 teachers, only 1 of that teacher s has problems with that student the other 2 teachers don t. That 1 teacher has nothing but write-ups on you and the other 2 teachers don t. So you tell me what the problem is. My son got hit in the mouth today by another student; he went and told the guidance counselor. She told my soon that now he was telling on another student for revenge because that student told him earlier because they was playing ball and the ball hit the other student in the face.

This school is a very good school with caring teachers and excellent principles; however, there is so much distraction within the classrooms with unrespectful students and daily "drama". Something really needs to be done so that students that are eager to learn can do so without all the distractions. My child's school year has been a very good year. She just tells me about all the daily drama and I just shake my head.

This school is under new leadership and has been a great surprise for the last 2 years. The school had a bad reputation, but we went to the new student orientation to get a feel for the administration and teachers. After meeting with teachers and administration, we decided to give the school a chance. There is great administrative support and teachers caring about the students. I appreciate the job the principle has done at this school!! Overall the school has been a delightful experience for student and parent.
