Do not put your kid into the system. As someone who has recently graduated from this system and has been in it since the 5th grade, I can honestly say that it is poorly designed, and is only made to take as much money from parents and students as much as possible. First, there are two different systems the free system versus the paid system. The free system has a limited number of slots and even though being free you still must pay for textbooks and textbooks have a very large price for them. Also, if you get slightly behind in any of your courses, you get constant annoying notifications from the person in charge pretty much saying we don't want you to be behind it makes us look bad in front of the local school district. The paid version is no different. The only difference is they leave you a little bit alone, but they charge the hell out of you and the price of the education compared to what you're getting is a joke. The higher-ups can be very rude and talk in a passive-aggressive manner. If a student or parent is coming into this thinking that it's a private school it's not, it's a revolving door of students. They have hundreds of thousands of students to make them as much money as possible and they do not care about the well-being of any of their students as long as it makes them look good. Teachers are not teachers they are just graders who grade your course material once every three days. Parents and students are the real teachers so if you're trying to learn something extremely hard and complex a poorly made textbook with terrible examples will not help you. Coursework is atrocious summarizing every single bit of work I've ever done from the 5th grade to the 12th I can say that almost all of the information that you learn you will never use in any real-world scenarios and all of the assignments that you do are just filler content that is there to waste your time and life and almost all of it will not help you in getting ready for the final test. As for the final test, they are poorly made, and depending on the course it can vary. It can be extremely easy where the test was lazily made and they copied questions from previous tests that you took throughout the course and put it into the final or it can be extremely difficult where they take the vaguest and most difficult questions from the course that you're doing and put it into the test. I wish I never was in this system it made my life miserable and it damaged my body.

Absolutely not. I enrolled my 3rd grader in TTU K12 with the intent to work besides her. This school is so unorganized and not user friendly that it makes simple tasks hard to do. There are several websites to get through to access the work. Young children could not work on their own. I was never sent all of the links for each book she needed. Not to mention the actual website where you access the books do not work. They really need someone to update the sites as most things simply dont work. Each subject has different ways to turning in material. Makes it frustrating to turn in work, takes longer just finding where the submit button is. You also get about 15 pages worth of instruction for each day for each course. Not exaggerating. There is no way to simply log on and get some work done. The website had a to of useless information as opposed to a clear layout where you select the course you want to work on and get to the next assignment. The dmv website it easier to navigate than this. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Look elsewhere unless you want to struggle daily logging onto the various sites used to get to the assignments. And want to read a few pages worth of instruction for each assignment. Nobody has time for that .

Our son enrolled in two semester TTU high school courses for credit recovery and we appreciated the user-friendly website, smooth enrollment process, curriculum support and assessment as well as teacher accessibility. Our son and we were grateful for the positive learning experience he received and recommend the TTU program.

This program came highly reccomended to us for our child to finish his high school career. Once we received the welcome letter with instructions, we ran into problem after problem trying to get logged into the portal for classes. Numerous phone calls to counselor, tech people, chats and nothing could be resolved. Tech support told us they were available 24/7, but most of the time no one answered or we had to wait on hold for long amounts of time, only to be told that there was nothing they could do and they would put in a request and email with answers. That neverhappened. After 3 weeks of no assistance, support, or abilty to log in, we decided to look into other opportunities. An email was sent to me to submit withdraw forms, and ironically, the webpage wouldn't work and accept my submission. I don't know what is going on here, but I found this to be a huge waste of my time and it left a disappointing impression. I would not reccomend this option. For those that it has worked for, lucky you, because I was truly excited about this opportunity, but very frustrated/disappointed in all the roadblocks I encountered.

As a student, this program was horrible. I went into it thinking it was going to be like how schools taught during the pandemic but I was completely wrong. In the first month the only thing the school provided us with was how to navigate the website. There was a specific book for each class and different ways to do everything. On top of that, you couldn't do anything without the books that you had to contact support for every time you get logged out. It took me two weeks to get all the books I needed because I didn't know every class was going to be like that. The best way to describe this school is a school where the student has to become the teacher. It it way harder than it sounds as well. On top of understanding everything the books are trying to teach you, you have to put it in your own words and take notes on everything so you don't forget, or else it will be a struggle to find what you're looking for again. Unless you can organize everything for several days and have 2 jobs at once as a student there is 0 way you can do this program. You can't switch schools either until you have everything in the first semester done which I've been trying to do for almost 2 months straight. Like wake up, do work, eat, you don't have time for anything else. The assignments they give you are almost like they were designed to waste your time with the excessive looking back and forward and the stupid questions that don't apply to anything we need to know. I guess that's in there to make the assignments more fun but none of the assignments, especially for the electives are fun. I want to buy Christmas presents for my family and have a good time with them but it's been hell for all of us trying to get it done so I could at least switch schools. This is the biggest mistake of my life so far and I hope you don't make the same one.

Spare your child from this nightmare. My daughter is highly gifted and was a straight A student until she became ill and started TTU. Still, she's not been able to finish the courses on time if she wants a decent grade due to the insane amount of work and lack of help preparing for the final. I initially hired 2 professional tutors, one a college math professor, to help her and even they could not answer the problems correctly. The dean of the math department at her old HS came to help and said there was no way any student could do that class on their own. It's been painful to see my daughter struggle this way and be late graduating. The faculty and advisors have been great to us, but the huge problem is the curriculum. It's simply beyond realistc. It seems like kids are expected to do the whole book and know it all for many of the finals which they have to pass, or they fail the class even if they have a 100 in all school work. Many teachers have been great but are limited on how much they can help. They can't even tell you what to focus on for the final, other than 100% of everything. Also, several tests had questions unrelated to the material covered or were for a completely different subject. It was hard to get credit for them.

My son took Math 7B in their middle school program to get ahead in math. The class was asynchronous, which means he was able to complete it on his own schedule. He moved through the lessons and used the book to complete assignments and tests. He did well. The teacher was always available, by email, for questions and had Office Hours for students who wanted one on one tutoring or needed face to face assistance. My son loved the format and is going to try another math class this Fall.Asynchronous requires a lot of integrity, self-discipline and parent support to keep students going. I can see how it may not be the best option for all students, but if you have a motivated student who really enjoys online learning and is independent in his or her learning approaches, Texas Tech Online High School is a great option.

Enrolled my daughter when her public school's remote learning ended up being far less engaging than their top rated in person learning was. Was imediately impressed with the ease of enrollement and service received by the Program Manager for Counseling Services. While teh classes appear to have been thurough, my daughter was able to complete her senior year through teh online course even after in person school was reinstated locally. The experience may vary from student to student, but TTU k-12 really was the best learning experience for us. Highl;y recomended.

We survived. Thankfully, our son understands that he is more than the 74 he worked his tail off to earn. Terrible. No student should do all that is required, go into a final with a 92 and barely pass. He is no longer eligible for the National Honor Society because of this class.

Overall, very displeased with the school. I would discourage any parent to run not walk to a different program.

I would rate my experience to be a 10/10. I can honestly say that everyone was very helpful and understanding of my circumstances. The staff and my instructor always helped me when I needed it and they supported me my whole journey through the program.

My daughter was enrolled in our local public school through the 6th grade. She started TTUISD in 7th and she found the work to be challenging, but loved the online format, and the flexibility in her schedule. She had been in Pre-AP courses before, and found these "regular" classes to be as difficult, if not more. The first few weeks are an adjustment period as the student, and parents, get used to this new way of doing school, but being able to go at her own pace allowed my daughter to complete three grades in two years. As a parent, I liked that she learned about time managment, how to respectfully communicate with teachers in writing, use of technology to complete coursework, the confidence to register herself and then take her final exams in a college setting, and how to find outside resources or help on her own. This is not an easy homeschool option, and may not be for everyone, but I feel this experience will help her to succeed in college because she has learned skills that are not available in the usual public school setting. I recommend that all high school students take at least one online class, even if it is supplemental, since so much of college is now online.

Do not take a class at this school. You can make 100's on all your work and fail the exam. They set you up to fail. My son has a disability and they did not follow the 504 plan for testing. For example, they have 29 true/false questions on a test out of 88 questions. If you miss all of the true/false questions, you fail the test. For someone with dyslexia and not having his plan followed, that sets them up for failure right their. No communication from the teacher after the test is given. They shut the site down right away. They have no care in the world. As long as they get their money, they don't care about you!

Do not recommend this school. Find another school. Don't let the low cost such you in. Many reasons. Lack of teacher involvement and poor curriculum. Hard to navigate website. Zero instruction. This is a course for students who can teach themselves physics and calculus and English literature. Message teachers and they often don't even know student is in their class. Teachers don't create the curriculum or the tests. Some teachers were unfamiliar with their own course curriculum. The curriculum is similar to AP curriculum in public schools without AP credit. If you have an above average child, your child may do play. If not, your child will not do well.

The final review was not graded in a timely manner, so my son had to take the final with no understanding of what he needed to correct in his understanding of the concepts. Teachers were not helpful and seemed irritated that my son was contacting them. Also, the Geometry program was not as challenging as my older son's experience in his public high school.

My daughter got all A's then she'd fail in the exams and that would be her FINAL grade, they don't even take into consideration her daily grades. In Biology it states for studying the Final Exam to read everything (at least 1000 pages, which she did that through out the semester). Then go over vocabulary (about 400 words). That's it, VERY general and unrealistic. My daughter remembered a question on one of the exams, so I went searching in the Biology book and found it in the 1000 pages of info....now realistically NO ONE can memorize the whole book...how in the world do they expect to pass when they RANDOMLY choose something in the book.In History she failed the first exam so my daughter is to re-take it...the teacher CAN'T (per TTUISD) tell her where or what to focus on from what she got wrong on the test!Zero help from teachers...Zero. Basically the student is on their own.

Absolutely horrible. Navigation is not intuitive and extremely frustrating. Takes a lot of time to figure things out. Link to "FAQ" (required to request an exam), link to "chat" to request help and toll-free number to our area ALL not working. Signed up for Part A & B at the same time in order to set up and save on shipping of materials and was told that both courses had to start at the same time. Therefore, unable to do one after the other and have to pay twice to reinstate access to Part B. One would think this would be expected - for students to do the courses in succession, as Part A is needed before accessing Part B. Money grab. Would NOT recommend to anyone!

You only get credit for these courses if you pass their final exam, which is nothing like the course you take. Even if you get A's on all of the assignments you can't get credit. Waist of time and money.

This program has been a very positive experience. It offers flexibility for students who need to work at their own pace. The courses are challenging but manageable.
