It is very simple. If your child is from a family of a well-known, well-to-do's, then they will have it made. If not, so sorry for your luck. Esp., if they are sports oriented, as Lawrence County, KY is totally sports crazed! It is SPORTS before anything and everything else! Lawrence County KY has at least TWO school buildings, that should have been condemned many years ago. Built in the early 1900's, the buildings are in extremely poor conditions, water leaks, poor ventilation, filled with black mold, etc. Students who attend these schools are ill every week, missing school, and punished for being sick. Absence from the buildings shows much improved health! As for the success at these schools, three are way below average. The LC High, and Middle Schools, are even farther below average. The other three are trying and doing better. There needs to be a total shake-down, from the top to the bottom, in my humble opinion. Use your best judgement. Research for yourself.

I graduated from LCHS my child attends LCHS. She is in AP classes and her test scores are above average. We have had great experiences here. The staff and board are not perfect but love our kids and do their best. The school and community are like family.
