My niece attended this school for 2 years. During her first year the teacher rarely gave out homework, consistently misspelled words on the board and on spelling tests, and was constantly trying out new online programs on the kids only to drop the program after one or two weeks. The second teacher gave out homework ONCE and that was as a punishment. She rarely had the kids doing work IN the class other than to have them read something and then teach it to the class, only she never graded them or tested them to see if any of the kids got the information. When I tried to talk to her about my concerns she just said how hard it was being a teacher because her class was made up of students who were reading at 2nd grade reading and writing levels. Which means that lower level teachers are passing students who are not ready. As a result, all the students are suffering. Once my niece got out of that school and into a charter school she had to take an extra tutoring class because she was two years behind most students in math. That is taking into account all the work books I worked with her on. My neighbor transferred her son out when he was in the 3rd grade and he was so behind on all subjects they had to hold him back a grade at his new school. Same thing occurred with one of my niece's friends. Another of my neighbors has two kids who are one and three grades above my niece. After half a year at her new school she is correcting their homework and tutoring them on subjects because this school didn't prepare them for middle school and they are struggling to handle it.
