Diverse and engaging. Endless resources both academically and socially for students and parents. Admin/Parent volunteers recognize and acknowledge students by name. Morale is great throughout this school.

This is a great school in a great neighborhood. The teachers and staff are caring, respectful, and engaging. The children are happy, safe and learning a ton. The garden is big and beautiful. There are lots of opportunites for parents to get involved and participate.

Both of my children are proud Grandview alumni and current student. Ms. Fletcher is by far the best Principle I've ever met. She truly cares. I Love the community, the Parents, Teachers, Families and Students as well as all the cultural awareness and education in addition to everything they do. I couldn't be more please and feel more at home then when we are on campus among the staff, administration and families. PTA even had such a fun and amazing meeting with cumbia dancing, pastries and coffee....Heaven. lol Gotta love them!

Very good, easy to get information and paperwork at the front office. Almost everyone I spoke to about this school really likes it and is glad they enrolled.

I have been very happy at Grand View Boulevard for over four years. No school is perfect, but Grand View has been an amazing place for my children to learn and grow. Not only is there a truly diverse student body, but the learning opportunities and abundant. My children have risen to the occasion and are well prepared for more.

My son joined Grand View in the first grade and it was the best decision we could have made for him. We were concerned at first that he would struggle learning Spanish because we are an English-speaking household, but only a couple of months in, he was already confidently practicing his language skills. The teachers at this school are fantastic. They care about the academic success and emotional well-being of their students, and I am so impressed by the differentiated learning that has been happening. My son has been challenged in the areas where he excels and given extra help where he struggles. They also have so many extras: gardening, cooking, library, art, and more. The parent community is very passionate and there are many opportunities to be involved if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s hard to express what makes Grand View so great because there are so many things, but the best thing for me is that my son actually looks forward to going to school and is going to leave elementary school bilingual!

I love this school. In addition to the regular curriculum, there are a lot of extras. There is a terrific garden/cooking program. Children perform weekly at the assemblies. Music, art and dance are big parts of the culture of this school. Many LAUSD teachers send their kids to this school. I really feel that I have all of the advantages of a private school with the true diversity of a public school.

It’s been incredibly disappointing. I pulled my child from a high preforming elementary to attend this Spanish immersion program. The curriculum being used this year is basically an English curriculum poorly translated into Spanish and being taught by a new teacher with lacking skills. The parent leaders spend a great deal of time talking about what a great school this is, but I’ve yet to see any evidence of this.

After having a child at this school now for nearly five years, my respect for the school has only grown. The school has three programs; a Spanish Immersion Program, an English Learning Academy, and a Special Education Program. Because of these programs, students regularly interact with people of all kinds of diverse backgrounds. This school is a true reflection of the racial & socionomic diversity in today's world. The majority of the teachers have more than ten years of experience and they really understands kids' academic needs.

Amazing school: academics, character building, enrichments, teachers, support staff, principal. In ALL areas - amazing school!

Within time my disappointed has grown. If you don't believe me just ask around just don't ask the staff or anyone in the PTA if you want honest opinion. The kids at the school enter by dozens in kinder but by the end 2nd gr the classes have minish to ratio of 12 to 15 per teacher. Not! because they want to given your child all the attention possible but because most of the parents are disgusted in disapproval of this school they pull their kids out to a better school.

GV's dual language (Spanish/English, on a 90/10 model that I think is ingenious) immersion program is amazing, and fairly unique within LAUSD and surrounding districts. GV is a thriving, involved school with a dedicated principal, staff, and parent community that integrates kids and families from throughout the community. In addition to the DL program and learning academy, GV has a special needs program that is fully integrated with the rest of the broader school. We have a library, new computer room (thanks to a generous donor who happens to be a successful former GV student), arts and garden program, and a Dia de Los Muertos program annually that amazes. Not only is my daughter learning Spanish, she's learning what it means to be part of her full community. Also, she's picked up some pre-algebra along the way. Check out grandviewelementary.org for a schedule of tours. Go Dragons!

you will not find a school w/a more loving, educated and tightly-knit staff! we are so happy to be here!

We transferred our son to Grand View because of their wonderful reputation for integrating children in the special education program with their general ed peers. We couldn't be happier with our experience in this first year. The expert staff is dedicated and the parents and kids have been kind and inclusive. Our son loves going to school again. It is worth the long commute to have this educational experience for our child, and I would highly recommend Grand View to any family, but especially if you have felt your child has not had a desirable special education experience elsewhere. We look forward to applying to the spanish immersion program for our younger child when the time comes!

This school has been amazing for my daughter. A warm welcoming community of families from a variety of backgrounds, socioeconomic classes, and learning abilities. The mutual respect given to other cultures, and perspectives in history is done in a caring way. Empathy, and value of everyone is emphasized. Many enrichment programs such as Art, Music, Dance, School Garden teach a real appreciation for the arts. My daughter loves her school, and wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

This is our third year at Grand View and we could not be happier with our choice of school. We have an amazing principal, teachers who work hard to teach the children and they care about them too, amazing parent volunteers and cultural diversity. On top of it all, our child has learned a great deal of Spanish and loves her school. Go Dragons!

I am a parent of a kindergartener at Grand View. As a new family at the school, I am so pleased with how eagerly we have been welcomed into the school's community. My daughter's teacher has been an amazing educator, guiding her through the transition into a bilingual classroom. It's amazing to hear her Spanish vocabulary expanding every week! Besides having the oldest language immersion program in the district, Grand View offers weekly art and music classes, along with gardening and cooking. The school serves an economically and ethnically diverse community, and seems to be growing in the right direction every year. I'm happy to say our family made the right decision.

I have 3 kids who attend this school. All of them have always had a good experience and loved their teachers. I'm very happy with how the school is run and how they take care of issues. My son has been diagnosed with ADHD and his teachers have always helped and communicated with me, which is greatly appreciated!

My wife and I love this school. Before our son started 1st grade we were debating to move him to a charter that we had loved and just gotten into. After looking at both the potential new school and GV we knew we couldn't leave. The environment of community that is at this school is amazing. Both parents and staff are open and wanting to create something special. We have never seconded guessed our decision to stay and if anything we wonder why we ever thought about leaving. GV is our home.

I love the school. The teachers are motivated and compassionate about each student and their development. There's a strong community within the school.
